Stunning views down over Pevensey Marshes and you could watch the mist coming in from the sea. Beautiful garden to enjoy and relax in. Very convenient for National trust places, Herstmonceux a mile up the road Very good access for trains to Brighton, Rye or further afield Sovereign Harbour is worth a visit to look at the boats, cafes for coffee or lunch and a short walk through to Eastbourne front. ...

Lovely setting with an absolutely amazing view over the Pevensey levels and a beautiful garden with plenty of wildlife to see and hear (including little owls hunting every night and reed warblers in the pond). Lots of things of interest to do nearby (Herstmonceux Castle, the Windmill, Battle Abbey, Pevensey Castle etc), and plenty of walks. Cottage was small but comfortable with all essentials provided, and a nice cake, yoghurt and milk on arrival. ...

It was a very interesting and educational experience to live on a working organic dairy farm for a week - the abundance of flowers, shrubs, birds and bees demonstrates how working with nature makes such a difference. St Mary Magdalene church (next to the farm) has the same ethos and the church yard is worth a visit. We enjoyed meeting the local people in Wartley and Carolyn at the the farms dairy, where there is a fabulous selection of organic yogurts (would recommend the orange yogurt drink!). We hope to return to Moorhen cottage again as one week is too short....
