Mrs Drew February 2024
We really enjoyed our holiday at Buttervilla Retreat. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The log burner in the lounge area made it very cosy, perfect for dreary February evenings. Extra logs can be purchased from the owners. A lot of care has gone into the decor and furniture choices, making it a very lovely place to stay. The bed in the double bedroom was particularly comfortable and the the sofa in the lounge area was also very comfortable. The position of the cottage is very peaceful, surrounded by countryside. The owners have added a shortcut across the field to make it quicker to walk to the local pub down the lane. It took us 4 minutes! The wooden hot tub, which is heated by a log burner, was a lovely treat. It took a while to heat it up, but once at temperature it was very relaxing and the February weather didn't dissuade us from trying it out a couple of times. There are lots of walks in the area and the South West Coast Path walks are a short drive away. We did the Mount Edgecumbe coastal walk as a circular from Kingsand and Cawsand and Rame Head as another circular from the same start point. We also took the passenger ferry from Cremyll over to Plymouth and walked to the Barbican for a very nice lunch. We would definitely recommend this cottage as a cosy, romantic retreat, dog friendly and perfectly positioned. Thank you to the owners for the lovely flowers and cream tea and yes we did put the jam on first with the cream on last as we were in Cornwall after all!...
