Cheswardine is a comfortable, cozy, very well laid out house with plenty of space in a beautifully tucked away quiet location. It worked perfectly for our 3 generation stay. There’s easy access to beaches such as Polzeath (favourite) and Trebarwith Strand (when the tide is out) and the Port William Inn there is fantastic for the whole family. We also visited Port Isaac, took the ferry from Rock to Padstow which the children loved and Tintagel is just up the road. As we knew we were going to be eating in each evening we organised a Tesco delivery from Wadebridge for arrival day for basics and topped up at local co-ops and farm shops as required which worked well.
A wonderful holiday, would thoroughly recommend Cheswardine as a home away from home.

This cottage is a wonderful place to stay especially if you have children accompanying you. Plenty of toys and games to play (for all ages) within a designated TV/play room which they can enjoy all to themselves, leaving a very comfortable living room for the adults to relax...great squidgy sofas! Plenty of room, with good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms (plenty of towels provided). Well equipped kitchen and utility room is suitable to dry swimming costumes and wetsuits etc if raining. Very suitable for dogs with a welcoming aga to dry them in front of, after a coastal walk on a wet day. Do recommend good walking shoes/boots as the coastal paths are rugged and overgrown in places...superb views though! Safe front garden (for children and dogs) and a separate seating area for alfresco meals with large table and two benches (not as shown in the photo). Location wise is great as there is a wonderful beach near by and some very good pubs to visit in the surrounding villages. The owners obviously stay there themselves, as it is beautifully cared for and has some lovely homely touches. Just pack your clothes, beach towels and whatever food you want, and you’re set for a great stay!

A very peaceful cottage in a corking part of the world.

We highly recommend a stay at this lovely cottage. Tucked away in a tiny, peaceful hamlet you come away rested and restored.

This was our second visit to Cheswardine and we loved it again! It is in a quiet location close to some lovely coastal and countryside walks. The local area has plenty to do however you do need to get in a car if you want to do other activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and cycle hire but all these things are within a 12 mile car journey. Our favourite beach is Trebarwith Strand which has plenty of parking and is just a short drive away. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. Good wifi but a poor phone signal … but hey you’re on holiday so it doesn’t matter! Definitely recommend this property for quietness and calm.

Beautifully quiet setting and very comfortable cottage which lived up to our expectations.

We had a wonderful stay at Cheswardine and were truly sorry to say goodbye. The house gave us a perfect base for north Cornwall. It was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of space , lovely and light with beautiful views from every window. I can’t recommend enough.

The cottage was a real home from home. It was very comfortable and spacious and all the bedrooms were very clean had lovely furnishings. I think it was probably to best equipped rental I've ever stayed in - in fact my family and I were trying to think of a piece of equipment it didn't have and I think the only thing we couldn't find was a butter dish!! The fire was a real treat as it was January and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. Great sea views, sunsets and lovely walks nearby.

Stunning location. Cosy, warm, spacious accommodation for two families with a kitchen that quite simply ‘works’ like no other. Would go back time and time again. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at Chewardine, it was incredibly well equipped, comfortable, and the location was truly stunning. A great place for a peaceful break, for us and the dog!

We liked very much the welcoming flowers & the red wine! The lovely cooking apples from the front garden! The Aga & available crock pot! The cozy lounge/s The fox seen in a nearby field & the many delightful birds, bees & butterflies all around us as we sat outside! Finding the coast path to the beach with the amazing views!

Very well equipped cottage in a good location albeit facing away from the sea. Close to North Coast amenities but with a lovely feeling of remoteness during busy holiday periods.

We had a lovely stay at Cheswardine; such a lovely house - comfortable, spacious but cosy, lots of character, and in a very peaceful location. We hadn't used an Aga before, but it was actually much easier than we thought, and we had some very good home-cooked results. The kitchen was so well equipped, much better than being at home!

We didn't really use the second reception room, but for a larger family, or those with young children needing their own space to play or watch TV, I imagine it would be a life-saver.

The beds were comfortable, and the double and twin-bedded rooms were all of a good size.

We spent some lovely time in the pleasant front garden - I may have dozed off on the hammock once or twice..! The garden was also very dog-friendly and secure. Our pooch felt right at home as soon as we arrived and enjoyed a few snoozes herself in the sunshine.

The 15 minute walk down to the local beach was well worth it - it was absolutely beautiful and luckily, not really close enough to any public parking that it attracted the crowds.

We'd definitely recommend Cheswardine to other guests, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again ourselves.

Cheswardine is a lovely property in a quiet location with walks from the house to the coast path. If you love walking, you won’t be disappointed. The property is well presented and very comfortable offering some stunning sea views from some of the windows. It is definitely a place for relaxing and unwinding.

Cheswardine is a perfectly located, lovely, welcoming house. The owners offer a generous and happy experience. I would certainly book it again. We all loved it.

A charming , spacious, comfortable, well appointed and equipped home in a lovely location. The ideal place to get away from it all. Would definitely return.

Cheswardine is an outstanding holiday cottage. It's beautiful, and sits in a picturesque location just a short walk to the coast, and a short drive to Port Isaac, Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand, Boscastle, Tintagel, Padstow and Rock.

The cottage is extremely well equipped, has a lovely garden and patio area, and is ideal for a fantastic family holiday. We will be back.

lovely property

Cheswardine never fails to meet our very high expectations. Looking forward to next year already

A really super cottage - light, warm, spacious, and very well equipped for a comfortable family stay. Excellent location for beautiful coastal walks with secluded cove and beaches nearby.

Gorgeous cottage and location . You can walk to a secluded cove . Ideal for an active or laid back stay . Well equipped kitchen making life /eating easy. Superbly clean .Thank you.

Beautifully appointed cottage - fabulous kitchen with every utensil you could possibly need!! Very comfortable lounge areas and well equipped for children - they loved the snug room with toys!! Would have been nice to have a proper shower in the main bedroom ensuite but undertstand that its a cottage and not always possible. Outside space was great and the garden table and chairs were brilliant. We all had a great time - Grandparents, Mum and Dad and 4 little girls and a dog!!

Thanks for taking the time to review Cheswardine. Having a well-stocked kitchen can make all the difference to a relaxing holiday so we're really pleased you found all you needed. The snug room is such a bonus and it's great to hear the children enjoyed blowing off some steam in there. Whilst there isn't a fitted shower in the en-suite there is a lovely bath with shower attachment, perfect for a long soak after a days exploring all that the North Cornwall coast has to offer.
