Horseshoe Shepherd's Lodge is a beautiful, tranquil and wonderfully equipped place to stay. As a solo traveller, it offered the perfect space to sit with nature, reflect and contemplate, whilst also being close to local amenities, the Mole Resort and the Exeter Inn, if that takes your fancy. Things that made the difference: - home baked goodies on arrival, and a bottle of fizz :) - big cups, a tea pot and quality utensils - the comfiest bed - a hot and powerful shower - a ready-to-go log burner and easy to use hot tub - privacy, peaceful surroundings and wonderfully friendly hosts. Wow! What a little beauty! Nikki and Spence were amazing hosts with a wonderful welcome and lovely homemade treats! The Shepherds Hut was just perfect and much bigger than we had expected, and a hot tub to enjoy! The location was ideal for a walk in the woods and down to the river, as well as great for exploring North Devon. Would high recommend to stay here! Thank you very much for having us!...

We have just returned from our second holiday to the Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut at Chittlehamholt and, once again, we had a fantastic time. Nikki and Spence (who we now think of as friends) are generous and thoughtful hosts who are very knowledgeable about the local area and things to see and do. 'Horseshoe' is extremely well equipped with everything you will need (and more!) and spotlessly clean. The location is quiet and private. It is also only a two minute walk from an excellent pub which serves very good, reasonably priced food. We highly recommend the Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut at Chittlehamholt and will be returning again soon! ...
