Horseshoe sits just a short stroll from the delightful village of Chittlehamholt which is a welcoming rural community with a community shop and a lovely local pub.
Sitting at the top of its own private orchard, there are 200 acres of ancient unspoilt woodland to explore just a stroll away down a green track.
The owners' chickens live at the bottom of the orchard. Please note from the 1st September these will be moved into a neighbouring field.
The owners also have some sheep, who live in a nearby paddock.

Exceptionally comfortable and well equipped hut in a lovely, very peaceful location. We loved the homemade cream tea on arrival - with the best brownie I’ve had in a long time!!! A perfect weekend break :)

We have just returned from another wonderful holiday at 'Horseshoe' where Nikki and Spence were, as always, the perfect hosts. The lodge was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed - There were also some extra treats! (and the website photographs do not show the beautiful pots of colourful flowers that are on and around the decking). It is in a very quiet, peaceful and secluded location which makes it perfect for a relaxing holiday. If you fancy a little exercise, there are a number of very scenic walks nearby and maps to guide you in the welcome pack; which also contains lots of other useful information about local attractions and other things to do. The village has a small shop stocked with the essentials and there is an excellent pub (about a three minute walk away) serving very good, reasonably priced food (and Devon Mist Cider!). On Thu, Fri and Sat they also serve takeaway pizzas. We were very sad when it came time to leave and are already planning our return visit. Thank you Nikki and Spence for your thoughtfulness and for giving us the opportunity to, once again, stay in such a lovely place. We will see you again soon! ...

The shepherd's hut was perfect. Every detail so carefully thought through, spotlessly clean and welcoming hosts. Fantastic location to visit spots in North Devon or walk to the local pub. We would definitely recommend the hut.

Beautiful and spacious Shepard’s Hut in a lovely peaceful location. Well equipped and super clean. The Hot Tub was fantastic and always ready to enjoy. The hosts are very welcoming and nearby if you have any questions. The homemade treats and fresh eggs were greatly appreciated and were absolutely delicious. We had a super peaceful and relaxing weekend and would highly recommend Horseshoe Hut to our friends and family....
