Absolutely amazing cottage, the best Christmas we have had in years. Christmas morning was spend at the beach in Bude with Champagne in hand. The cottage was warm and so cozy, it felt like home as soon as we stepped in. It is so well equipped with everything that you could need. We made our Christmas dinner, without having to take anything of our own. Really really impressed. The location is fantastic, we well and truly explored the areas. As a die hard Doc Martin fan at the grand old age of 27, it was a joy to visit Port Isaac. Bude is beautiful, the great thing is its only about a five minute drive. Morrisons and Lidl are less than a ten minute drive so everything you need is really close. Our pug had the time of her life running on the beaches and in the sea, a dog friendly environment. One more point I wanted to make was the house keeper, Natasha is utterly amazing. So kind and friendly and really helpful. Thank you so much for making this miserable year have a truly fantastic end.
Paige.

Great location near to everything, and a lovely walk into Bude.

Corner Cottage is lovely! It feels very old and full of character, but beware of low doors. I'm 6ft and came away with quite a large gash across the crown of my head. My wife - 5ft 5in - had no problems at all. There are bodyboards and other beach stuff in the 'container' in the courtyard. Parking on the road was no problem at all. The internet connection was so slow as to be basically unusable and the phone reception isn't great, so be aware if you rely heavily on getting online. The main bed is very comfortable with what seems to be a good quality memory foam mattress, but it does creak quite a lot when you move. And there's no sound insulation between that room and the living room on the floor below. The other bed was much quieter. Depending on the make up of your party, that could be something to take into consideration.
Location is close to Bude and just off the A39 'Atlantic Highway' so most of North Cornwall is easily accessible.
There is a small shop in the village that sells pasties, amongst other things. Didn't try them, unfortunately, so can't comment on quality. The hotel opposite doesn't currently do food, but there are food vans that come round on Monday (Pizza), Wednesday (claimed to be Carribean, but served jerk chicken and Thai and Japanese curries - I liked the jerk chicken) and Friday (can't remember what that one served - possibly fish and chips).
Be wary of closing the door to the snug: the latch didn't work properly and we got trapped!

Thank you so much for your detailed review, your local recommendations are fantastic! We are delighted that you found Corner Cottage to be lovely. We do agree that older cottages do have a lot of character and part of that character does mean low ceilings and we are sorry to read that you hit your head, we hope it is all healed now. We are glad you made the most of the village amenities, especially enjoying the jerk chicken. Thank you for letting us know about the snug door latch, we will get this checked. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Sarah, Customer Support
