A very enjoyable family week at beautiful Old Manor House in charming Charmouth. Well located for walks, beach, heritage centre with public transport and useful shops and pubs on doorstep. A special historical house that has been carefully and beautifully restored into a warm and welcoming home. Dawn and friendly housekeeping/ garden team were excellent . Would love to return and highly recommend....

The house is well maintained and very well equipped for the potential number of occupants for self catering and indoor and outdoor entertainment with plenty of indoor areas and a large garden. Coastal footpath walks from the front door provide opportunities for exercise and relaxation with access to unique habitats supporting rare plants such as Green-winged Orchids and migratory birds in Spring as well as spectacular coastal views. Local shops and pubs provide opportunities for essentials and an occasional meal. Bus stops and timetables are very convenient for short hops west and east to such places as Lyme Regis and Bridport. ...

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Manor House, the attention to detail in providing everything a family with young children needs is exceptional - even stair gates were provided if needed. The cottage was exceptionally clean and warm and the location is fantastic for fossil hunting! The housekeeper is lovely and friendly and genuinely cares about ensuring you have a lovely stay. We hope to return for another lovely holiday in the future. Thank you!...

Mrs Tytler July 2026

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Manor House. A short walk from a great beach, this proved an ideal location for our family stay of x 8. From grandparents to teens, we had so much space in the property to really spread out. The garden was simply gorgeous. So sunny and spacious on our stay. Everyone had their own corner if they wanted! The pool and games room was a bonus for our teens, and competitive dads.... The two pubs were OK. The better of the 2 would be The Royal Oak (sitting on the terrace at the front, you have a lovely view down the valley), but can see families with smaller children would prefer The George due to its larger garden with playthings too. The Fish and Chip shop was a bit chaotic and not really good once we finally received it - maybe better off getting take away from the pubs. The little village shop was brilliant for those last minute dashes, and the bakery was by far and above one of the highlights too - croissants to die for! We are already missing them. The bus stop straight outside took you up and down the coastline - we made it to Lyme Regis twice very easily, and in the summer holidays this is a blessing so you don't have to worry about parking (highly recommend moules frites on the terrace overlooking the bay at The Rock Point Inn!) All in all, we highly recommend The Old Manor House, and the grandparents already looking at availability for next year when they hope to bring us all back again. Thank you to all!...
