Although most trips require a shortish car journey, Ivy Cottage is well situated in a friendly, pretty, and obviously working village. On road parking is right outside the door, the shop is a few meters away (open most mornings only), while the Fox & Hounds pub is just a few steps up the hill (and an easy stagger back down it after some good pub grub and a few pints of the ‘Palmers IPA’!). Worth mentioning that, on the dining side, we also had a very good meal (with top service) at The Greyhound in Sydling St Nicholas. We have stayed in many cottages, through many companies, over the years and this was one of the very best. It is obvious that much thought has gone into making the property so welcoming with a good garden and conservatory for the summer and a wood-burner for when (if?) the temperature drops. Everything has been thought of and it is very well equipped in all departments. However, it is also very obvious that much effort goes into maintaining Ivy Cottage; it was scrupulously clean, and towels and bedding were freshly laundered. It was great for the two of us but would easily cope with a group of four people. The surrounding area is one of the UK’s most beautiful stretches of coast and countryside and Ivy Cottage really was an excellent base from which to explore. Highly recommended....

Beautiful cottage lovingly cared for by owners. Wonderfully well equipped in a very friendly village with a super pub serving nice food and locally brewed beers. So much to do and see in the local area, very unspoilt.

A beautiful, spotlessly clean cottage with wonderfully decorated rooms, a fantastic conservatory, and a lovely garden! The kitchen is equipped with absolutely everything you could wish for on holiday. Ivy Cottage is centrally located in the small village of Cattistock; a charming village shop and a good traditional pub are just around the corner. John and Maggie are very warm hosts, and we are really looking forward to coming back soon....

Very homely cottage in perfect location for exploring and walking our dogs. Beautiful enclosed garden in which we could relax in. The cottage had everything we needed and during the very hot spell we still felt comfortable and cosy. Everything was very clean and well thought out, the living room very comfy , the beds and bedding very clean and it’s a place we would like to return to again....
