We are just back from our fourth wonderful stay at the White Cottage. This is a fabulous place to call home for a week. The weather was somewhat "mixed", but given recent storms that have pounded this area we were exceptionally lucky & even managed to eat our breakfast out of the patio in full sun one morning (in February!). We launched our canoe from the end of the garden for a couple of decent length paddles. There are amazing wildlife spotting opportunities staying here, both from the water and what feels like your own personal beach at the end of the garden (we saw Red-necked Grebe- extremely rare, Great Northern Diver, flocks of Mediterranean Gulls, Curlews, Whimbrels, Kingfisher and swans plus lots lots more). This is also a really good base for enjoying great walks & exploring the area. Waking up from a sound night's sleep into such a calm and extremely comfy cottage is bliss. You may feel like you are in the middle of nature here and yet Falmouth with all its attractions is an easy 15min drive away. The lovely Trebah Garden is even closer and also does a wonderful breakfast ; ) Thank you for another great stay. We absolutely adore White Cottage and v much hope to return again...and again! ...

It rains in Cornwall.. a lot. The week before we arrived there was a heatdome over parts of the UK and it was warm (25°C) in Calamansac a neighbour told us; during our stay we had 2 rainless days out of 7 and 13/14°C, so be aware. Very narrow roads - nice region to explore when you don't mind the weather. Don't be fooled by the photos of the cottage, let's say: clean from a distance but very far from clean.......

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're so sorry to hear that the cottage's cleanliness fell short of your expectations. This certainly isn't the norm for this property and had we been aware, we would have arranged for the housekeeper to return immediately, as we wouldn't expect you to arrive to such issues. It's such a shame you missed the heatwave, but we do hope you still enjoyed exploring the area despite this and the narrow roads that are very typical in Cornwall. Classic Cottages...
