Meadowcliff was the perfect base for a family holiday. The facilities and location were excellent and the views from the house were even better than we expected. The pool table kept everyone entertained, with a tournament taking all week to complete, and we made good use of the hot tub too.

Fantastic house for multi generational get together or large family. Doesn't matter if rain or shine, plenty of space and great views if you just want to sit and be still. We all loved this house and garden, highly highly recommend.

We just spent a fabulous week at Meadowcliff - the house and location are brilliant and the whole family enjoyed being there. Lots of swimming, kayaking...cycling and hiking in Dartmoor, plus trips to Shaldon, Teignmouth and Torquay - so much to do! BBQ and hot tub at the end of each busy day. What could be better. Thank you for letting us stay - we'd love to come back. Best wishes, the Wilson family

A fantastic property for a large family holiday. Stunning location with large surrounding grounds. This includes a park area for the children, gardens to enjoy, decking with a hot tub and amazing views and your own private steps to the beach. All very private behind large stone wall. Location is excellent with walks to the local town, loads of pubs and eateries to choose from and near by attractions and beaches to visit. The house was very clean and comfortable, lovely decor and really comfy beds! Separate snug area to lounge and enough TV's to please everyone! The pool table is a real plus and the fires lovely to relax by. There is a separate annex to the house which provides some privacy if required. If you want to get away from it all and spend some quality time with those you love this is the perfect place!

This is a delightful property which was perfect for our extended family holiday. The house is comfortable and very well equipped. The garden is a delight especially the new addition of a play area for young children and we love the access to the river. We walked along the beach at low tide with the grandchildren. Great fun even if some of us did get stuck in the mud! My husband and I enjoyed staying in the cottage which was very comfortable and has amazing views across the estuary. This was our second visit to Meadowcliffe and we plan to return again soon.

Lovely location. Very quiet and peaceful. Central for visiting places. Comfortable beds and great showers. Drawbacks were the inadequate cooking facilities (needs another oven if cooking for a large group) and the stairs were very slippy and three people fell (one badly bruised herself).

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on Meadowcliff. It really is in the most wonderful setting and it's great to read how much you enjoyed the location and the super comfortable beds. We're so sorry to hear that some members of your party had a slip on the stairs; we've followed this up with the owners to look at the possibility of extra signage to alert future guests. There is a main oven in the kitchen with the benefit of an extra microwave/combination oven. For larger dining requirements we're pleased to report that there is also a further full size oven in the annexe. Our helpful sales team are always delighted to answer any questions you may have and we hope to welcome you back soon. Julie, Customer Support

Helpful staff and charming cleaners We loved it all, thank you x

Perfect for a family get together.

Meadowcliff is a fantastic house in the most wonderful setting, we were blessed with a week of sunshine at the end of September. Sunsets to die for, beautiful views. Excellently equipped kitchen, room sizes were great which meant even though we had a family of 10 there, there is always somewhere to find your own space. All our family really enjoyed the house and facilities

Beautiful house, lovely location.

Really lovely welcoming property with amazing views and access to river. Very comfortable stay. Great outdoor activities, restaurants and beaches nearby. Really loved our week away.

We had a lovely restful stay despite not good weather for most of the week. Lot's of space inside and out. Made good use of large tv and sky because of the weather. The main lounge doesn't have big windows that overlook the river and garden...not a problem if weather is good and you are able to use the lovely terrace.

Be aware that for anyone elderly / infirm staying in the bungalow annexe there are quite a few steps some of which are quite high between each one.

Overall good value , especially if you use to capacity.

Lovely house with spectacular views of the river and Teignmouth. Definitely recommend it for family get together.

Our initial impressions on arrival were of a beautiful house in a stunning location. The view to the estuary is wonderful. Inside, the house is spacious and ideal for large groups however we were then faced with numerous cleanliness and maintenance issues which you would not expect from this standard of property and price. The annex is very sweet but the bathroom was dirty and damp with broken bath side panel, mould on the ceiling and mildew grouting. It needs refurbishing. We were most shocked to discover the ceptic tank overflowing so could not use lower section of the garden - keeping a 4 year old away from it. This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location but we were all shocked and disappointed by the issues we encountered with cleanliness and maintenance. I hope the designated property manager checks this property again soon before anyone else is as disappointed us we were.

Thank you so much for your comments. Meadowcliff is indeed a beautiful house and very spacious, so ideally suited to a family break. We were so sorry that you experienced an issue in the garden - the septic tank was emptied just a couple of months ago so isn't full but there does appear to be a problem with a pipe that means one area of the lawn has been affected. An engineer is booked to investigate and resolve the issue in the next couple of weeks, but we very much regret any impact on your stay. Your feedback on the annexe bathroom is also welcomed. The owners have asked us to apologise for any disappointment and have confirmed that they will be assessing the wear and tear here with a view to refreshing the area as soon as possible. We had a wonderful weeks holiday in this beautiful property which has such wonderful facilities and is in a wonderful location - it could not have been more perfect.

Plenty of space for children to run free. High quality and as advertised. Close to Dartmouth via steam train ride and lovely beaches close by. Feels like it’s in France it’s so beautiful.

Lovely views and riverside location. Dogs need to be on the lead and supervised at all times in the garden though as wild cherries lying on the ground are a risk to their health if crunched and swallowed.

Very comfortable property. Magnificent views. Large house but cosy too

A really great place to spend a week with all 4 generations of my family, and Rosie our dog came too! Great walks and lots of places to visit that suited all of us.

I had the most fantastic time at Meadow cliffe. It was to celebrate a special birthday and this did not disappoint! Everything was perfect and the house was a major wow factor for all the guests that stayed. The service was brilliant and the owner was incredibly helpful. Thankyou for making this birthday so special! ?? Abi

A really lovely secluded location, huge house with annex, steeply sloped site - a real winner for families with kids.

Really enjoyed our stay in the main house but the annex didn't come up to standard. Hot tub excellent, really nice bbq. Lovely garden and views. Peaceful and quiet. Dogs really enjoyed their self running around the big garden.

Thanks so much for your review; we thrilled that you and your four-legged friends enjoyed your stay! We couldn't agree more with you - the views from this property are simply breath-taking. We're sorry that you felt the annexe could have been better; we've received your questionnaire and we'll discuss the points with the owners. Tressa, Customer Support

A great venue for a family gathering with ample space to get together or have quiet time to yourself. The view is outstanding making even rainy days feel special. Lots of facilities to keep everyone entertained.

It is the perfect place to have a special celebration with family and friends. A perfect place to relax with beautiful views on all sides of the cottage.

We are a walking group of seven men and a dog. The property and location were ideal for what we wanted. We used it as a base for walking part of the South West coastal path (from Lyme Regis to Paignton). The bedroom and bathroom facilities were more than adequate for our needs. The kitchen and dining area made it easy to prepare meals on the evenings we decided to eat in. Good local bars and restaurants are only a short drive away. There is plenty of space to relax in comfort and watch TV, if you want to. We also had great fun using the games room, not to mention enjoying the spectacular views across the Teign estuary and down towards Teignmouth! All in all, an excellent property in a great location.

Wonderful place for a large family reunion. Accommodation was perfect and annex handy for not-so-good-sleeping 20 month toddler (and parents!) We all enjoyed the hot tub and loved Shaldon with its botanical gardens and zoo.

Noisy water heater going through the night in the cottage. Tumble drier would have been good. Beds were comfortable and sheets good quality.

Thanks for reviewing Meadowcliff. We're sorry that you found the water system noisy at night - we don't appear to have received similar comments however we will of course monitor this. A tumble drier is not an advertised feature at this property. We do appreciate that it may be a useful addition and have forwarded your suggestion for the owners consideration for future improvements. Alison, Customer Support

I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday 11 of us and dogs. I couldn’t have asked for a better place although the roads were very narrow approaching the property, but that is Devon for you. The hot tub was a definite hit and the scenery spectacular. We all had a wonderful time thanks to beautiful Meadowcliff.

We had a fabulous week helped by the weather & beautiful location of Meadowcliff. The house was a lovely place for our family to meet up & relax. Shaldon is a great village with Teignmouth across the bridge if bigger shops were required. We would love to go back to explore the area more.

The house and grounds were superb and were well kept and looked after. The views were lovely overlooking the river. There was everything you needed to make it a very enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely family holiday in a beautiful house with an amazing view, would love to come back again as did not want to leave

Meadowcliff is in an excellent location with stunning sea views and extensive gardens. The access to the beach is a huge bonus and we, especially the children in our party thoroughly enjoyed our little visits to it. The house is spacious, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. It was easily big enough for the 6 adults and 5 children in our party. We had BBQ's, played pool in the Games Room, had picnics on the lawns and there was room for lots of garden fun. The annexe cottage is a delight and was a holiday within a holiday for the Grandparents as it is so peaceful and totally self contained. We loved our holiday at Meadowcliff and were reluctant to leave. It is close to Shaldon Village which is a lovely and quaint with shops and a perfect family beach. There are many fascinating areas to explore near to Meadowcliff. We would highly recommend it.

We really really enjoyed our time there .,.the cottage at the bottom of the garden was great for we oldies to relax on our own Wish we could have picked it all up and brought it home ...we all missed it when we came back

Really recommend Meadowcliff to everyone
