Mrs Hughes March 2025

Stayed in early March and it’s a lovely warm, well equipped, comfortable holiday house with a great view. …we stayed a few extra nights as it’s so nice. It’s steep hill back up from the beach though , but on the plus side you’ll be an awful lot fitter after a week of walking up the hill every day!...

A lovely stay in a beautiful holiday home warm and comfortable. Views were stunning over the bay. Easy access to the beach although hard walking back up the hill. Safe secure garden for our dog. Very quiet at night. Although the weather wasn’t the best the accommodation made up for it. Mr and Mrs Scanlan and Ria the dog ...

Comfortable & well equipped holiday home in idyllic location . Safe secure garden for our dog & beautiful sea views from property.

Mr Hart February 2025

A very comfortable and well-equipped bungalow. The sea views over to Burgh Island are great. The walks from the doorstep are a bonus but do be careful that there is a steep climb up from the beach. A good value property with plenty of interesting sites nearby to explore....

Thank you for sharing your review of High Lea. I'm glad that you were able to appreciate the spectacular sea views right from the patio. The walk back up from beach can be tough so we do include a recommendation for those less able to take their car, in the property description. We hope that we will be seeing you again soon! The steep stairs in the central living area would be unsuitable and unsafe for young children and those with any mobility difficulties or issues. The property was clean and in a lovely location with views of Burgh Island from the garden. However, the property itself did not in our opinion, reflect the high cost of the short break for 2 of us or the additional cost for our dog. We were blessed with excellent weather enabling us to walk and explore the local area. It is a coastal area, so be prepared for often steep and uneven terrain on local walks which are very lovely with wonderful views. The nearest(and only) pub to walk to in the immediate locality is The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island, accessible only by the causeway at low tide, unless the tractor is running at a cost of £2 per person one way. The Venus cafe on the beach is very good value, but only open from 9 until 5pm....
