We had a wonderful stay in this peaceful shepherd’s hut on a lovely farm in Somerset. It was spotlessly clean, cosy and the perfect place to relax. Sue and Terry were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Terry kindly invited us to try his homemade cider, and Sue offered us a lift to explore the Quantock Hills. The following morning, Terry took us up to Triscombe, sharing his local knowledge and pointing us towards some great walks. Thank you, Sue and Terry, for your wonderful hospitality. We had a fantastic stay, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, and hope to return one day....

Ideal couples retreat venue!

We stayed at Duck Puddle for five nights and had a beautiful time. The shepherds Hut is extremely well maintained and full of character, with everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. Meanwhile the surrounding garden is self contained, well established and maintained with care. Duck puddle overlooks fields with lovely sheep for neighbours. Our dog loved the hut and gardens, he liked to sit in the doorway as watch the sheep. Sue and her husband were great hosts and made us feel so welcome, always available if we needed anything and able to offer excellent advice on days out from a local perspective. The hut is situated in a small farm, so cows, sheep, chickens and ducks were our neighbours. There are no immediate walks from the farm, but so many amazing locations are easily accessible a short drive away. We were really enjoyed visiting Kilve Beach with the gorgeous nearby tea room. Hestercombe and Fyne Court were a lovely pairing. Cheddar Gorge gave us a great day walking and some fascinating time in the caves. We also saw the beautiful town of Glastonbury. All of which were very welcoming and accessible for our little Jack Russell. We would absolutely recommend staying at Puddle Duck if you’re looking for a relaxing time, a chill in the hot tub and some lovely days out - especially if you have a dog in the family. Thank you and we look forward to visiting again. ...
