Eastcott Cottage

We stayed here for Christmas with our children and grandchildren aged 4 and 6. We wanted it to be magical as my son was dressing up as santa. The decorations were minimal and not a sparkly Christmas light in sight! We tried everywhere to buy some, but with no luck. We go away every Christmas and always the properties are always so christmassy, even with twinkly lights outside. So I was very disappointed. Also not much room for 8 to sit around the table, it was a squeeze. A lot of flies due to being bext to a cattle farm, so summer would be more! No fence at bottom of garden near front door, quite dangerous for little ones running about, maybe plant some plants instead of the steep drop. Outside light was temperamental. Also a welcome pack of milk, bread etc would have been better than what was left. Other than that, it was clean, and we enjoyed being together at Christmas. ...

Eastcott cottage is a peaceful and comfortable cottage, close to some lovely beaches.

It was a pleasure to arrive at Eastcott cottage. When we arrived late at night the cottage was lit, warm and presented beautifully. A welcome package of teas coffee and biscuits were available with a bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. The rooms were a great size and beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal for us just a short drive to the stunning beaches, small town and supermarkets to do a bit of local shopping and the pub. Beautiful lawn for the children to explore and play. Everything was provided to enjoy a relaxing family break. For us everything was perfect, but unfortunately we had to leave early due to family illness back home as we left in a hurry some items were left behind. The housekeeper contacted us and offered to send them to us in the post which we were extremely grateful for....

We had the best week ever - it was a true home from home; so much so I could have easily stayed another week or more! It is just such a lovely house - two adjoining living rooms - both comfortable and well appointment. One with TV, one with log fire. Two double rooms, one with ensuite and two twins - all declared very comfy. The kitchen and dining room with massive utility was just brilliant. We had two dogs with us and to have rooms with hard floor was just brilliant - we are very diligent about clean dogs but sometimes you just need room for a large towel for them to lie down and dry off. It had everything you needed, loads of storage, big dining table, excellent oven, dishwasher, big fridge AND freezer and a stable door to the front garden - good for keeping the fur balls in but letting fresh air in too. There is a porch and big heated hallway for coats and shoes. There is only one garden and this is to the front of the property - bench, BBQ, grassed and paved areas. The only thing to point out about the garden is it is enclosed but it's not 'secure'. But one of our dogs is an escape artist ;-) My retriever stays fairly close but with a big ditch to explore (other side was fenced) and livestock next door I kept him on a long line. Make the garden secure and we would definitely book again. It has it's own drive and two parking spaces out the front and is situated on a very quiet road - we took the dogs around here for evening leg stretches with no problems. Absolutely loved this place. And having used Classic Cottages several times with their amazing customer service I will keep on recommending. Thank you for having us!...

Lovely secluded property for two families and additional bonus with second sitting room. Very large front garden but alas not secluded for my two dogs who had to be kept on leads throughout their holiday. Bbq supplied.
