The Wagon with Faraway Views

We loved our three night stay at The Wagon with our two young children in March. The secluded location with beautiful views made for a very quiet and peaceful stay. Everything we needed was available and there was a lovely hamper with eggs, apple juice and scones as an unexpected extra which we thoroughly enjoyed. I couldn’t find anything negative to say about this place if I even tried! We had the most wonderful stay. The owner met us on arrival, she was lovely and welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. Also a lovely touch which was a small hamper for us on arrival with Apple juice, eggs, milk, scones with jam and cream! Thank you! The place itself is a little slice of heaven. Situated perfectly out the way of the hustle and bustle, with the most beautiful scenic views all around. We took our dog which was perfect for her, all fully enclosed gardens with so much space for her to run around and enjoy. The hot tub was perfect the whole weekend. We made use of the log burner which was lovely. The little wooden bench on the veranda was such a wonderful spot for a morning coffee to catch the sunrise, which we did. Myself & my partner had an amazing 4 night stay at the Wagon with our dog Ralph (we didn't want to leave!) The Wagon itself had everything you needed and was super cosy and comfortable, with amazing views of the surrounding fields, featuring lots of cows and ponies! The hot tub was a lovely bonus and was the perfect way to finish the day after a nice walk on Dartmoor! We will absolutely be coming back in the future....

We had a lovely relaxing week with our 2 children (9 & 4) at the wagon. The place was peaceful and beautiful with plenty of outdoor space all to ourselves. Seeing the horses everyday in the field opposite was a great bonus! Even though the wagon is very much in the secluded countryside you’re very quickly on a main road with easy access to villages and bigger towns. The owners are very friendly and not intrusive. The little welcome basket on arrival with cream tea, fresh eggs and apple juice was a very nice gesture. ...

What a beautiful place, just tranquility, peace and calm, with wonderful views! This is the perfect place to switch off and unwind. Immaculately clean inside. The garden is gorgeous with a big lavender bush, a small barbecue grill and robins, blackbirds and swifts flying low in the evening, and horses just over the fence in the field. I loved the mezzanine bed that you climb up to, with the porthole to gaze out onto the fields. The hot tub was wonderful and the owners were able to turn the water temp down to make it a cold tub during the heatwave, which was blissful!. The camping chairs to sit and relax in the garden were great and it was lovely to eat dinner on the sheltered veranda looking out across the fields. Delicious complimentary basket of food and drink upon arrival and generally a really cosy, comfy place. I would return in a heartbeat. The owners were so kind in offering me a lift back to the station too, instead of getting a taxi, and nothing was too much trouble. I can't recommend this place highly enough!...
