Mrs. Roes July 2022

We've had a wonderful time, thanks for all Kerstin & Anja...

Our seventh visit to the hut and another perfect stay in our beloved place. It’s just the same as the first time we stepped into it, it’s absolutely immaculate, it gets better and better with lovely extra little touches added all the time, which always makes it harder to leave. Kay and Graham are the perfect hosts, always on hand if you need anything at all, which you won’t because everything has been thought of! Thankyou both for another wonderful holiday xx...

We had a wonderful stay at the Shepher's Hut. The Hut and garden are just beautiful, with a real feeling of seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the nearby towns, as well as it's own tropical paradise for sitting out in and high hedges to give it privacy from the main house. It's so well equipped, everything has been thought of, including walking guides, attractions, pub recommendations, and other reading and dvd entertainment, bbq, etc. The online photos are so spectacular that I was imagining the furniture, especially in the garden might not be looking at it's best anymore, but the photos actually don't do it justice as to how pretty and spotless the place is and how well-kept the garden is too. The owners, Kay and partner were incredibly friendly and helpful when we needed them, and the welcome gifts of bubbles, scones, biscuits and homemade bread were just delightfully thoughtful and really made our stay. The setting is just gorgeous and we were greeted in the morning by ponies overlooking us from the paddock and often a very friendly little cat too. Good to have recycling on site as sometimes it's not provided and we end up carting it all home to avoid putting it in the general waste. And Kay and partner even kindly let us charge our EV by three-pin plug (and extension lead which we always have with us) at the hut, which was just so helpful as it can really disrupt your holiday if you're having to plan trips around stops to charge the car all the time - especially in Cornwall - although all the lane driving does significantly help conserve the miles if you're staying fairly local. So a definite bonus and we would definitely not mind paying extra for this, especially if we were staying longer and needing a number of charges given rising electric bills (still cheaper than charging out and about, and no time-cost so a win-win). All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to return for a slightly longer stay at some point so we can fully switch off and see more of the beautiful area too....
