Unfortunately, our holiday was completely ruined due to building work being carried out for 2-3 days of our stay. I have been in touch with the property owner to request a full refund, as refunds can only be given by them. However, we were only given a two-day refund, less the commission charged by Classic Cottages to the property owner. I truly believe that we should have received a full refund, as the property owner should have informed Classic Cottages about any work taking place so we could have been informed before making full payment. It's disappointing to have had our holiday experience marred by this, and I hope that others can be made aware of the potential for this kind of situation when booking through Classic Cottages.

Thanks for your review. We would always pre-warn guests if we are made aware of any work in advance, so we were sorry to hear that repairs started to the mill 4 days into your stay. We appreciate that this would have been a surprise and disappointing, and as a result we understood compensation was agreed directly between you and the owner of the property. We would like to reassure you that something like this is not a regular occurrence. We are usually kept up to date by owners, if known works are due to take place, so that guests can be informed, and it is only on rare occasions and usually with genuine reasons that there we do not have this information. We are sorry that you were not pre-warned of this, but we do hope that you still enjoyed your time there in the days before the work commenced. Classic Customer Support

Really enjoyed our stay at Levathan beautiful old cottage with bags of character yet had everything needed for a good holiday. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic Cottage. Highly recommended. Furnished to an exceptional standard and in a gorgeous setting.

We had a great week staying at Lavethan Mill Cottage. The cottage is lovely set in beautiful grounds. The cottage is very well equipped and provides easy access to explore the surrounding areas. Was great to see the water wheel in operation and lovely to hear the sound of water running past the cottage. We will definitely be returning for another holiday.

Exceeded expectations, a beautiful property.

A beautiful cottage and location to stay in

Wonderful location for cycling

Our stay in Lavethan Mill Cottage was just delightful. The accommodation is first class and gardens have to be seen to be believed. We could have happily spent our whole stay exploring the grounds. The Camel Trail is just yards from the end of the driveway - a lovely stroll, with a wonderful cafe and cycle hire business just over a mile away. We can't wait to return.......

A lovley cottage and an even more lovley gardens! The kids loved it

From the moment I walked in, I was speechless. More than I had ever dreamed of. This cottage and it's spectacular gardens are everything you imagine a traditional English cottage to be. Could not have wished for more, except to live there permanently.

Lavethan Mill Cottage certainly is a very special one and we're so pleased to share it with you. The epitome of country living but with that added touch of luxury, it really is the perfect base for making some truly unforgettable holiday memories. Although we can't promise you permanent residence we can offer you another visit - did you know that you can also book the mill next door…..? Tressa, Customer Support

Thanks for letting us stay at this wonderful place. The card for our 25th anniversary from Classic Cottages and one from the housekeeper along with the Champaign & flowers and the scones jam and cream. All made the welcome better than we expected.

We loved the cottage and the grounds its on, well done to Steve the gardener who we spoke to about how he's done what we think makes the cottage. We would love to return so will be checking it out for next year.

The roads around the area are not the faint hearted, but plenty around to do and see if you like walking, cycling.

Many congratulations on your silver wedding anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than tucked away in the hidden Cornish countryside at Lavethan Mill Cottage. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back next year. Tanya, Customer Support

We had a lovely stay in early April. The gardens are very well maintained and the cottage is quiet and cosy with a well equipped kitchen. There are local walks and most parts of Cornwall can easily be reached by car from here. Chris & Anita

So beautiful, quiet, well looked after, dreamy cottage.

We spent a wonderful week at this lovely Cottage, a very special and magic place. The house is lovingly restored and decorated and the equipment is excellent. We loved the AGA oven in the kitchen, once you tried it you don't want your regular oven any more... The garden is huge and wonderful, the gardener has done a great job! The location is plain countryside, a car is a must. You can walk for a pint to Blisland (Inn) however, that takes around 15 minutes. Attention for taller people: ceilings are quite low, be aware of your head... and walls inside are very thin (wooden...) so you can hear noises from the other rooms. Thats the price to pay for the original walls;-) We loved it nonetheless.

What an amazing place to stay. Despite having cobwebs, these added to the charm of the property. This was the first time we have rented a cottage. We certainly weren’t disappointed. What an amazing property. Perfect in every way. The quality of the furnishings were first class. Nothing in the property was cheap. Top quality for everything. To be supplied with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, hand wash, hand cream and room sprays went above and beyond what you would expect. The milk, scones, jam and cream left for us for our arrival was a beautiful touch. Would certainly recommend this property. Absolutely stunning property. All the personal touches added to the charm of the property. If I could live there I would!!!

This cottage and its surrounding gardens are simply charming. You will be transported into another world in the most beautiful of settings. The cottage is furnished to a high standard with every comfort thought of. It is warm and cosy and very clean and the gardens are beautifully tended. The proximity to the Camel trail at the end of the garden gave us endless hours of fun on our bikes and we were able to include a visit to the Camel Valley Vineyard during one of these outings. The wines are very good and the tour interesting and informative

If your after peace and tranquility, this is the cottage for you, they have thought of everything, beautiful setting beautiful cottage. Would have stayed longer if possible... Highly recommend !!!

This mill is in a magical setting. The rooms were well decorated and furnished. A delightful place for a peaceful holiday.

A delightfully quaint rustic cottage, beautifully appointed.

A beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. The gardens are amazing to explore and our toddler loved that there were ponies and places to paddle just outside the garden boundaries. The cottage its self is fabulous - comfy, cosy and luxurious.
