What a romantic setting, set back off the beach and only 100 yards from the harbour. Quiet and comfortable with dramatic views of the bay. We'd definitely recommend The Studio to others not just seeking a romantic break but also a small family holiday. A perfect base from which to explore the area. We'll be back!

The studio is tucked away in a quiet spot but with views of the sea and only a short walk to town. Lovely garden with double doors out to it. Would really benefit from ability to dry laundry, swimming and water sports stuff. The heating is only nightstorage heaters which seemed to work sporadically, as was the cold air that came through a disc in the roof. If you are cold and wet from swimming, water sports or rain, it is hard to get warm and took several days to dry clothes. If the weather had been kinder we would have hung things in the garden and be unbothered by strange heating/air con situation, but sadly in a wet week we were often very cold.

We love St Mawes and the location of the Studio is fabulous being so close to the centre and just beside Tavern beach, with a wonderful view from the mezzanine over the estuary. It’s a sweet cottage and size worked well for a family of 4, however the strong smell of damp (despite doors & windows being open all week) and the very basic bathroom let it down.

Absolutely beautiful property Hope to return one day

We had a very happy stay in this peaceful, quiet and well-appointed studio/cottage, so close to the sea. The outside space is very private and the mezzanine is comfortable, light and well laid out. In our experience of cottage holidays The Studio rates very highly, as a comfortable place to stay, well located for all that lovely St Mawes has to offer..

The Studio is a perfect location in town, well decorated and equipped and quiet at night. Lovely quick hot water and good wifi too.

It's great to see that The Studio worked so well for your winter short break in Cornwall. We hope you had a wonderful stay and thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Tanya, Customer Support

Wonderful week spent at the Studio. As described cosy accomodation, which was perfect for our family of 4. Would recommend!

We had a lovely week here, the studio is perfectly situated. We feel we need to mention that we found the bed gave us both a bad back after a few days. Lovely little property just a little musty in places, which we realise can happen in older properties, we felt we needed to open windows and add a plug in air feshner to alleviate this, we were lucky with the weather but can imagine this may be worse in winter months.

We loved our stay at The Studio, it was perfectly located for us. It was peaceful and we enjoyed the proximity to the sea. The bed was very comfy, and we loved the open plan light and airy layout. We'll be back!

Lovely Studio in a great location, very cosy and warm. It had everything we needed for our stay. Lovely views from upstairs and we enjoyed the garden when the sun eventually shone. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend to others.

Lovely bright property in a great location.

A lovely, beautifully kept apartment. Everything you could possibly need was there. The kitchen was particularly well provisioned. Great to have some fresh milk in the fridge! And the apple juice and biscuits were a nice surprise. Beds were great. Towels also. The location is excellent too. St Mawes is a stunning place and The Studio is an ideal base to explore it from!

This property is so nice because of it's location and character that we have returned on a number of occasions. It is ideal for 2 people. However, it is a pity that the kitchen is not better equipped and that overall little has been done throughout the property to maintain the high standard we first experienced. Some years ago we would have given it 5* but now only 3*.

The location was exceptional and made our holiday. The size and layout of the studio was good. The property needs updating, renewing and tidying. It felt quite scruffy and old. It cost a lot for one week and so we felt it was vastly overpriced.

Lovely cottage in a great location very near Tavern beach and a few minutes walk into town. Quiet, private patio. Well equipped cottage and deceptively spacious. Suited our family of 4 (2 early teen children) perfectly.

Fantastic location and plenty to do and see in the area.

It would have been nice to have a small Bbq in the patio

The Studio was lovely, bright, light and comfortable and in a great location, we had a lovely holiday

Perfect romantic private getaway beautiful location

Fantastic stay, beautiful cottage, lovely decor, home from home

Lovely spacious studio in a stunning location, just moments away from the harbour. A little home away from home, the apartment was a great place to spend a week away.

Make sure you visit The Rising Sun pub, grab a coffee from The Bear Coffee Van by St Mawes Castle, and make the most of the amazing walks around the area! Oh and fish and chips from The Watch House! Thank you for having us again St Mawes, such a hidden gem

Lovely, relaxing holiday, beautiful village, great location.

Beautiful place to stay and St Mawes as a location is wonderful. So near to lovely restaurants and a wonderful view of the sea.

It was brilliant we really enjoyed our stay: cosy, Cornish, authentic building with a sea view. Just the perfect breakaway. Louise and Sam

Unfortunately the cottage had not been cleaned properly for our arrival which really spoilt our impression of this cottage and made us feel uncomfortable.

We reported this to Classic Cottages who dealt with this promptly by coming out to inspect the property and arranging for it to be cleaned again. They also replaced rusty and dirty cutelery, toaster and pans.

Obviously this wasn't a great start to our holiday. We have stayed in a number of Classic Cottages and parts if this one weren't up to the usual high standard. The bathroom and kitchen need updating. Whist some parts were furnished nicely with quality products, others needed replacing e.g. old rugs and dirty cushions.

On the positive side the cottage is in a great location and St Mawes is lovely. However we wouldn't stay in this cottage again unless the kitchen and bathroom were refurbished.

Such a beautiful little cottage, especially the bedroom and lounge upstairs with its fantastic view. Enjoyed the patio area, a quiet and relaxing place to have breakfast.

We spent a wonderful week at The Studio. Lovely, comfortable, spotless, quirky and private accommodation. The perfect place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a delicious dinner at the Tresanton Hotel to top it off. We look forward to making a return visit.

The property was in a good location but there were a couple small disappointments.

On arrival there could have been a small soap in the bathroom for hand washing.

The battery vacuum cleaner did not work.

The first floor is actually in the roof space and gets really hot and stuffy as the roof insulation is poor. This meant we were unable to use the double bed and found the ground floor bedroom with 2 single beds more comfortable. An air-conditioning unit would be appropriate. Without this and a bathroom on the first floor, we felt that this property was more suited for 2 people rather than 4.

Thanks so much for reviewing The Studio - it's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the fantastic location and hopefully managed to explore all that St Mawes has to offer. We're really sorry that you noticed a few issues during your stay and just wanted to reassure you that your comments have been forwarded to the housekeeping team for their attention at the next changeover and we're grateful to you for letting us know. The weather has been particularly warm these last few weeks which has been wonderful but we will of course also forward your suggestion for air conditioning to the owners' for their consideration for the future. The Studio achieved absolute perfection for us. From location decor patio sitting area and everything else it provides. We would rate it well above excellent. We will definitely be booking again.

We were dissapointed to find the garden table rather dirty and the outside courtyard unswept. The blind in the downstairs bedroom was left down when we arrived and it was clearly broken. Only one of the kitchen cupboard doors closed. We had very good service from classic and have used you many times before. There were just a few too many issues this time for us to be really happy overall.

Thank you for reviewing The Studio - we're pleased that you enjoyed its tucked away position in St Mawes with those far reaching sea views, however we were sorry that you found the courtyard area to be untidy and that you had noticed some areas requiring maintenance and we've followed up on all the points you raised with the housekeeping team. Recommend the studio

Ideal location in a quiet village to explore local area or further afield via the excellent ferry service. The studio is extremely appointed with comfortable furnishings.

lovely studio, great views from upstairs, very quiet and peaceful, very clean, well equipped. Would recommend.

A lovely stay with my wife and two kids (aged 7 and 3) The Studio worked really well for us, was more spacious that we had expected and great views of the sea . It was ideal being so close to the beach which made it so easy to take the kids down. We would not hesitate to book again in the future!

The Studio was a delight to stay in. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and super location. Thank you we hope to be back in the future.

A lovely cosy little cottage in a great central location and sea views from upstairs. We enjoyed our Christmas there and would definitely visit again.

The Studio is the perfect seaside holiday retreat, with welcome tea and biscuits, beautifully private outside space, whilst being literally yards from the sea. It was really good value for money.

Fantastic location,St Mawes is quite the foodie destination -so many lovely places to eat The Idle Rocks-fantastic food and brilliaant cocktails and dont miss fish and chips from the watch house .Leave the car and take the ferry to Falmouth and enjoy sauntering around the shops

A hidden gem very close to the beach and port of the stunning st mawes ,clean and bright and well equipped studio, just set back from the road which gives you a lot of privacy,
