This is a good value, family house at the top end of St Mawes with ample parking. There are some views across to the sea and river especially from the bedrooms. It was lovely to lie in the comfortable bed at night and listen to the owls hooting in the nearby trees. The kitchen is well equipped. We had very good weather when we visited so didnt spend that much time in the house. The walk down into town is very steep - we found it best to zig zag our way slowly down and back along side streets and pathways and explore St Mawes at the same time. Might be a good idea to get groceries delivered, shop by car or take them with you rather than lugging anything weighty up the hill. There are lots of leaflets and suggestions re places to visit in the house - all neatly catalogued. I havent given 5 stars as there were some “niggly’ issues with this house that were taken seriously by the Classic team, they would have been rectified during our stay but we preferred them to wait till after we’d left. There are some “higher end” properties eg better views, better outdoor furniture and BBQ’s, to rent from Classic in St Mawes but clearly those are more expensive than this affordable, family house. ...

Hillside Cottage is well located in the lovely village of St Mawes. The property has a large drive for parking. As previous guests have mentioned the walk into the village is short but very steep and after one walking trip we took the car - parking in the village was easy. Village has two pubs, cafes and a well stocked CoOp. Easy to reach the lively town of Falmouth via ferry. The house was spacious with three sizeable bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a good walk in shower. Other than the large front drive and gravel area there is no grassed area / garden at this property but there is a small deck. Good views over harbour and estuary. We found the property to be good value for money, well located and would recommend. ...

Good location to St Mawes Harbour which we liked but not the hill back... property is fairly comfortable to live with and we would stay again if the price is discounted again as they are not worth the full price...
