A beautiful, secluded barn in a wonderful setting. Thoroughly enjoyed the extensive well stocked garden and walks in the meadows. It felt a real privilege to stay in such a peaceful, historic place and yet so near to amenities and wonderful areas to visit. A Devon cream tea on the terrace of hotel overlooking Hope cove is a must.

This cottage and gardens are truly amazing, I wish I could keep it a secret

We absolutely loved our holiday at Leigh Barn and recommend to anyone wishing to stay in quiet tranquil surroundings. The footprint of the property and gardens must be at least 10 acres. The garden, surrounding woodland and field are breathtaking and yours and the charming owners completely. The barn is of a very high standard and a short distance to the many beautiful beaches in this part of Devon. We sincerely recommend this property.

Leigh Barn is a really lovely cottage; comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. It is set in the tranquil countryside just outside Kingsbridge and has a large beautiful garden that guests can enjoy. Would thoroughly recommend.

Outstanding accommodation in beautiful location.

We appreciated the welcoming 'hosts' with their friendly dog. We thought the accomodation was comfotable and enjoyed the beautful peaceful gardens. We were pleased to stay in the beautiful South Hams area and make the most of the ranging beaches all quite near and we loved the coastal and estuary walks. We found lots of interesting places to eat nearby and all in all had a most enjoyable week - thank you

Very beautiful and, above all, peaceful property. Delightful owners who are "there if you need them" but otherwise leave you to enjoy the house and the garden on your own.

Sense of calm and being "deep in the countryside" - even though the property actually is quite close to Kingsbridge and other facilities.

A very comfortable stay in a wonderful property. Warm welcome from delightful and knowledgeable owners. The remote location offers a wonderful sense of peace and quite, best enjoyed in the spacious gardens. The house is warm and spacious. Lovely linens, towels etc. Workable spacious dinning kitchen. Very comfortable, spacious lounge area. Responsive heating system, and hot water on tap. The remoteness = very narrow lanes to the property. Fortunately the lanes are rarely busy.

If you want peace, quite, topped off with a dollop of character / history then Leigh Barn would be well recommended.

Quality barn conversion, with comfortable furnishings, set in extensive and delightful grounds.

It was a privilege to stay on this beautiful mini-estate set down a lane in a secluded and quiet area but 15mins walk to a fab farm shop with cafe, 7 mins drive to a decent sized Tesco and a few minutes drive to 2 pubs. There is a lot of history attached to this property and it was a real treat to stay here with access to acres of gardens and a meadow. The barn itself is spacious, warm and cosy. The bed is very comfortable with good quality linens. I would suggest you take an eye mask if light wakes you up. The kitchen is well equipped and the sofas very comfortable. Ideally set up for those who plan to work here with a desk on the first floor in the bedroom which also has a sofa and chairs. Good wi-fi. Very pleasant hosts who have recently taken over the property.

This is a really lovely comfortable well laid out cottage. Set in a stunning location, peaceful and secluded, amazing grounds, and wonderful surroundings, yet very close to amenities, a farm shop, Kingsbridge and about 15 minutes from Hope Cove and environs. We could not fault it - my husband had to work and the super fast Broadband lived up to its name. The history of this incredible find is a bonus - the grounds stunning and guests are free to explore the extensive gardens. The patio area is secluded and a hot spot and for those who like a bench in a garden there is one at the back of Leigh barn. The bed is the best we ever slept in on holiday. The hosts are welcoming but not intrusive and are genuine custodians and guardians of an exceptionally unique place to stay. Highly recommended.

You will be transported into an oasis of calm surrounded by amazing old buildings and gardens which are truly magical and all within minutes of the sea, what’s not to love

Fantastic property. Well equipped, clean, cosy and good location. Wonderful grounds. Would recommend and visit again. One if the very best we've stayed in.

The fresh flowers were a gorgeous touch. Very clean and bright. The gardens are spectacular and we felt priviledged to be invited into almost another narnia. Such a history, such a lovely holiday with a history lesson as well. A brilliant hoilday find in a beautiful hamlet in a valley with a medieval history set in 3 acres of planted borders with a stream brimming with life which runs away down the valley.

One of the most amazing garden's I have seen! Beautiful cottage with stunning views, quiet and comfortable. Lots of really interesting history too!

Thank you so much to the owners who made us feel very welcome. It was great to hear the history of Leigh Barn. Appreciated local knowledge and recommendations on where to go. Such lovely gardens and surroundings. Thank you also for the flowers and biscuits, a lovely touch.

people on site were very nice and they made the holiday extra special

If you like a secluded setting with fabulous grounds within easy reach of the coastal towns and walks this is the place for you.

Leigh barn wonderful tranquil and lots of history . The owner gave us a history tour which was very interesting . The gardener keeps the gardens in magnificent condition and there are a huge variety of plants grown chosen carefully for their surroundings.

The cottage is well equipped and comfortable but it is the garden at Leigh Barn which is the stand out feature. It is truly delightful.

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend staying here. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. The garden is amazing and great for hide and seek! Great location and easy to get to most towns and lots of lovely walks nearby.

A beautiful cottage contained within delightful grounds giving wonderful views of the night sky and Milky Way on a clear night thanks to its location. It is perfectly situated to make the most of all South Devon has to offer, quaint towns and stunning coastal walks. We enjoyed every moment of our stay despite the inclement British weather during our stay. We would love to return and spend a little longer exploring the gardens and grounds of the cottage. Thank you.

This is a wonderfully presented cottage. You would not be disappointed with your stay here. The grounds are just fabulous. Such history too.

Leigh Barn is charming- a rustic but luxurious converted barn set in breathtaking gardens. The cottage had all we needed for our stay and was cosy and comfortable. We were welcomed by the on site gardeners, who were friendly and informative. We enjoyed spending time in the gardens, observing the beautiful plants and bird life. Our daughter also enjoyed meeting the gardener's dogs and swinging on the hammock and swing in the adjoining field. We found the location to be excellent too. We could purchase supplies in nearby Kingsbridge and drive to the coast easily through pretty countryside. It was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of Leigh Barn at the end of a day spent exploring. During a bout of wild and windy weather we were able to enjoy films and games provided in the cottage. We also enjoyed learning more about the history of the site and were given an interesting tour by the owner. Our only disappointment was leaving after a week! Thank you! We hope to be back!

Comfortable property, peaceful, surrounding gardens beautifully maintained.

A magical place to stay, well situated for the local area. Could not have been made more welcome. We would certainly recommend this property

A lovely secluded barn, well equipped, set within beautiful grounds and yet within easy reach of all popular South Devon locations.

We had a lovely stay. The people there were very friendly and helpful. We met the owner who gave us a tour of the ancient part of the house, telling us about it as we went. Fabulous garden to enjoy as well. Just wish we had had two weeks rather than the one., to enjoy both the place and the beautiful area.

We've stayed here four times and love the accommodation and the surroundings. There's always a friendly welcome and it's a pleasure to see how the garden has been transformed over the past few years.

Lovely quiet location, spotlessly clean cottage comfortably furnished and very attractive gardens

Leigh Barn is wonderful. My wife and I fell in love here 31 years ago, whilst working on an archaeological excavation in the main building. This made our stay so very special. Dendy and Cliff, the caretakers, were lovely, really helpful, and Rod, the owner, very kindly gave me a tour of the house and Grange. We would highly recommend this property.

High quality refurbishment, everything was there that we needed. Welcome we received was friendly and generous. The house was warm and had been beautiful dressed for Christmas which was a wonderful surprise. Really enjoyed the tour of the ancient buildings. The garden is stunning and lovely to walk in and enjoy.

One of the nicest places we have stayed. Bigger than anticipated. Beautiful house and gardens. Will love to return. Wonderful friendly hosts.

A lovely spacious cottage with a beautiful garden and some fascinating historic buildings on site.

Probably one of the best places we have stayed, if not the best for a very long time.

Fantastic stay at Leigh Barn, very welcoming hosts, magnificent property and gardens. Will definitely be back.

Gardener Mrs Ticehurst & her husband are very nice people, have created a wonderful garden, an oasis of peace!

five star gold medal and even more! Thanks to the lovely people( caretakers Dendy and Cliff, and also the owner), beautifully decorated and cosy cottage, lovely garden and surroundings, piece and quiet, no way you could ask for anything more! A piece of heaven on earth!!

Beautiful barn finished to an excellent standard. Set in the most beautiful setting within Leigh Barton. We. We're. Fortunate enough to get a guided tour and potted history from the owner. Very knowledgeable and completely fascinating. Little touches such as fresh flowers and biscuits were appreciated. We did several lovely walks from the barn without having to use the car. The barn stayed toasty warm and cosy and logs were plentiful should we have needed more. Cannot recommend enough.

"A jewel in the country". Well equipped and comfortable,in beautiful surroundings.

A lovely place to stay in for your holiday. Full of history, garden was beautiful.

Excellent accomodation. Highly recommended.

Fantastic cottage and grounds.

A beautiful property in a fantastic historic setting and within easy reach of stunning coastline. Very friendly, helpful housekeeper/gardeners. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely cottage, high-end finish. Excellent facilities and very nice and friendly lady who welcomed us and made us feel at home. Well worth making a round trip of 1300 miles!!!!

Leigh Barn is excellent but if two couples go there could be envy over who gets the master bedroom. The second bedroom whilst beautiful but only a fraction of the size of the main one. Being able to sit and walk in the grounds is idyllic, the gardeners extremely helpful and friendly

We stayed in Leigh Barn from the 3 - 10 September 2016. Leigh Barn has been referbished to the highest standard, the kitchen had everything we needed, the bathrooms were excellent our beds were very comfy and the grounds were outstanding. What a great job the owner has done with the grounds and she was so helpful telling us places to go and with the history of the buildings, we enjoyed the guided tour she gave us and we also enjoyed the eggs, tomatoes and corgettes we had from her.

A lovely property in a perfect location for the South Devon area. Several Beaches plus Salcombe are all within a short drive. The owner and caretakers were extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The grounds are a gardeners paradise and we nearly dognapped Bell the dog to take home with us. Kingsbridge has all the amenities you need. The only draw-back is the Wi-Fi which proves difficult to access. If this isn't part of your holiday criteria, you wont have any qualms.

Was the best cottage we have stayed in, was spotlessly clean and the gardeners were so attentive it really made the holiday.

It ist a fantastic place - even more beautiful than it looks like on the internet !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leigh Barn: a beautifully renovated property, in peaceful surroundings. The gardens were a joy to walk around, and the personal welcome and touches by our "hostess" were much appreciated. She was a fund of knowledge about everything, from local parking and passing places to the best shops and tea rooms!

A lovely property on a fascinating medieval site. The caretaker was very friendly and gave us a guided tour of the historic buildings. The garden was stunning and added to the overall enjoyment of the holiday.

Overall a gem in a beautiful peaceful setting but close to Kingsbridge. Wonderful history and greatly appreciated the tour of the buildings by Dendy and the time and effort she put into this. Highly recommended.

Leigh Barn is a very special place to stay. You can feel all of the fantastic history of it. The caretaker/gardener was lovely, friendly and helpful, giving us a tour of the old Monastery building. The comfort of the barn was excellent and the gardens a joy.

Really great place. Beautifully furnished. Lovely touches of flowers, biscuits, milk, bread etc. Much appreciated.

Leigh Barn is a lovely warm cosy cottage with generous sized rooms and located in a hidden away valley but ideally positioned to explore this area of South Devon.

The house keeper ensured that we were provided with everything we needed to enjoy our stay at Leigh Barn.

This cottage is a gem. From the medieval atmosphere in the courtyard, to the spacious interior, the whole experience was perfect. A week here is the perfect anti-dote to city life. I cannot emphasise just how much we loved the place.

We had a lovely, peaceful week at Leigh Barn. It is well furnished and very comfortable. The pictures on the website drew us to book, but the Barn and gardens are even more beautiful once seen. The Gardeners/Caretakers were welcoming and very happy to help if needed. They are also doing a fantastic job of landscaping the gardens! Would definitely recommend.

A very comfortable holiday cottage in a great location.

Really great location above all expectations. Marvelous garden and surrounding very nice welcome by the gardeners, very tastefully decorated and comfortably equipped. Very beautiful Bantham beach close to the cottage..

This is a superb property for a holiday, but it is really made by the presence of the "landscape gardeners" on site. They act as caretakers, welcomers, guides, advisers on restaurants (and gardening) and really make the guests' stay excellent.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The Barn was like a home from home. The location was very good for travelling around. The caretakers Dendy and Dave were very accommodating. The grounds of the Barn were superb and excellently maintained. We would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I fell in love with this barn conversion the minute we walked through the front door. Absolutely wonderful, beautiful property. If only I could pick it up and take it back to Dorset with me. Highly recommended.

The barn was superb - very clean and spacious with lovely surroundings. We were made to feel very welcome by the gardeners and owner and had a very interesting tour of the other buildings.
