We had a wonderful stay and would recommend staying here. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. The garden is amazing and great for hide and seek! Great location and easy to get to most towns and lots of lovely walks nearby.
Mrs Williams October 2019
A beautiful cottage contained within delightful grounds giving wonderful views of the night sky and Milky Way on a clear night thanks to its location. It is perfectly situated to make the most of all South Devon has to offer, quaint towns and stunning coastal walks. We enjoyed every moment of our stay despite the inclement British weather during our stay. We would love to return and spend a little longer exploring the gardens and grounds of the cottage. Thank you.
Mr Gosling October 2019
This is a wonderfully presented cottage. You would not be disappointed with your stay here. The grounds are just fabulous. Such history too.
Ms Harrison August 2019
Leigh Barn is charming- a rustic but luxurious converted barn set in breathtaking gardens. The cottage had all we needed for our stay and was cosy and comfortable. We were welcomed by the on site gardeners, who were friendly and informative. We enjoyed spending time in the gardens, observing the beautiful plants and bird life. Our daughter also enjoyed meeting the gardener's dogs and swinging on the hammock and swing in the adjoining field. We found the location to be excellent too. We could purchase supplies in nearby Kingsbridge and drive to the coast easily through pretty countryside. It was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of Leigh Barn at the end of a day spent exploring. During a bout of wild and windy weather we were able to enjoy films and games provided in the cottage. We also enjoyed learning more about the history of the site and were given an interesting tour by the owner. Our only disappointment was leaving after a week! Thank you! We hope to be back!
Mrs Gosling July 2019
Comfortable property, peaceful, surrounding gardens beautifully maintained.
Mrs Richards June 2019
A magical place to stay, well situated for the local area. Could not have been made more welcome. We would certainly recommend this property
Mrs Smith June 2019
A lovely secluded barn, well equipped, set within beautiful grounds and yet within easy reach of all popular South Devon locations.
Mrs Holgate May 2019
We had a lovely stay. The people there were very friendly and helpful. We met the owner who gave us a tour of the ancient part of the house, telling us about it as we went. Fabulous garden to enjoy as well. Just wish we had had two weeks rather than the one., to enjoy both the place and the beautiful area.
Miss Lewis April 2019
We've stayed here four times and love the accommodation and the surroundings. There's always a friendly welcome and it's a pleasure to see how the garden has been transformed over the past few years.
Mrs Gardiner April 2019
Lovely quiet location, spotlessly clean cottage comfortably furnished and very attractive gardens
Mr O'Hara March 2019
Leigh Barn is wonderful. My wife and I fell in love here 31 years ago, whilst working on an archaeological excavation in the main building. This made our stay so very special. Dendy and Cliff, the caretakers, were lovely, really helpful, and Rod, the owner, very kindly gave me a tour of the house and Grange. We would highly recommend this property.
Mrs Trewick December 2018
High quality refurbishment, everything was there that we needed. Welcome we received was friendly and generous. The house was warm and had been beautiful dressed for Christmas which was a wonderful surprise. Really enjoyed the tour of the ancient buildings. The garden is stunning and lovely to walk in and enjoy.
Mrs Pollard October 2018

Dr Daniels October 2017
Beautiful barn finished to an excellent standard. Set in the most beautiful setting within Leigh Barton. We. We're. Fortunate enough to get a guided tour and potted history from the owner. Very knowledgeable and completely fascinating. Little touches such as fresh flowers and biscuits were appreciated. We did several lovely walks from the barn without having to use the car. The barn stayed toasty warm and cosy and logs were plentiful should we have needed more. Cannot recommend enough.
Mrs Terry September 2017

Mr Ritchie September 2016
Lovely cottage, high-end finish. Excellent facilities and very nice and friendly lady who welcomed us and made us feel at home. Well worth making a round trip of 1300 miles!!!!
Mr Willetts September 2016
Leigh Barn is excellent but if two couples go there could be envy over who gets the master bedroom. The second bedroom whilst beautiful but only a fraction of the size of the main one. Being able to sit and walk in the grounds is idyllic, the gardeners extremely helpful and friendly
Mrs Brookes September 2016
We stayed in Leigh Barn from the 3 - 10 September 2016. Leigh Barn has been referbished to the highest standard, the kitchen had everything we needed, the bathrooms were excellent our beds were very comfy and the grounds were outstanding. What a great job Binty has done with the grounds and she was so helpful telling us places to go and with the history of the buildings, we enjoyed the guided tour she gave us and we also enjoyed the eggs, tomatoes and corgettes we had from her.
Mr Rathbone August 2016
A lovely property in a perfect location for the South Devon area. Several Beaches plus Salcombe are all within a short drive. The owner and caretakers were extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The grounds are a gardeners paradise and we nearly dognapped Bell the dog to take home with us. Kingsbridge has all the amenities you need. The only draw-back is the Wi-Fi which proves difficult to access. If this isn't part of your holiday criteria, you wont have any qualms.
Mrs Barr August 2016
Was the best cottage we have stayed in, was spotlessly clean and the gardeners were so attentive it really made the holiday.
Mr Schreiner August 2016
It ist a fantastic place - even more beautiful than it looks like on the internet !
Mr Angwin July 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leigh Barn: a beautifully renovated property, in peaceful surroundings. The gardens were a joy to walk around, and the personal welcome and touches by our "hostess" were much appreciated. She was a fund of knowledge about everything, from local parking and passing places to the best shops and tea rooms!
Mrs Withers June 2016
A lovely property on a fascinating medieval site. The caretaker was very friendly and gave us a guided tour of the historic buildings. The garden was stunning and added to the overall enjoyment of the holiday.
Mrs Davies April 2016
Overall a gem in a beautiful peaceful setting but close to Kingsbridge. Wonderful history and greatly appreciated the tour of the buildings by Dendy and the time and effort she put into this. Highly recommended.
Mrs Snooks April 2016
Leigh Barn is a very special place to stay. You can feel all of the fantastic history of it. The caretaker/gardener was lovely, friendly and helpful, giving us a tour of the old Monastery building. The comfort of the barn was excellent and the gardens a joy.
Miss Milton April 2016
Really great place. Beautifully furnished. Lovely touches of flowers, biscuits, milk, bread etc. Much appreciated.
Mr Jenkins March 2016
Leigh Barn is a lovely warm cosy cottage with generous sized rooms and located in a hidden away valley but ideally positioned to explore this area of South Devon.
The house keeper ensured that we were provided with everything we needed to enjoy our stay at Leigh Barn.
Mr Orosz February 2016
This cottage is a gem. From the medieval atmosphere in the courtyard, to the spacious interior, the whole experience was perfect. A week here is the perfect anti-dote to city life. I cannot emphasise just how much we loved the place.
Mrs Hurley September 2015
We had a lovely, peaceful week at Leigh Barn. It is well furnished and very comfortable. The pictures on the website drew us to book, but the Barn and gardens are even more beautiful once seen. The Gardeners/Caretakers were welcoming and very happy to help if needed. They are also doing a fantastic job of landscaping the gardens! Would definitely recommend.
Mr Butcher August 2015
A very comfortable holiday cottage in a great location.
Mrs Wintruff August 2015
Really great location above all expectations. Marvelous garden and surrounding very nice welcome by the gardeners, very tastefully decorated and comfortably equipped. Very beautiful Bantham beach close to the cottage..
Mr Dunhill July 2015
This is a superb property for a holiday, but it is really made by the presence of the "landscape gardeners" on site. They act as caretakers, welcomers, guides, advisers on restaurants (and gardening) and really make the guests' stay excellent.
Miss Hall June 2015
Our stay was very enjoyable. The Barn was like a home from home. The location was very good for travelling around. The caretakers Dendy and Dave were very accommodating. The grounds of the Barn were superb and excellently maintained. We would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Mrs Northam April 2015
I fell in love with this barn conversion the minute we walked through the front door. Absolutely wonderful, beautiful property. If only I could pick it up and take it back to Dorset with me. Highly recommended.
Ms Lewis April 2015
The barn was superb - very clean and spacious with lovely surroundings. We were made to feel very welcome by the gardeners and owner and had a very interesting tour of the other buildings.
