Have a day out along the North Somerset coast. Visit Minehead for Steam Trains and traditional seaside fare, or maybe take a trip to the picturesque Dunster Castle, perched high up on a hillside.
This is the Headford Reservoir - a lovely walk along country lanes from the cottage.
You are close to the magnificent moorland of the Quantock Hills and Exmoor - so keep looking for these Red Deer, whilst you're walking the beautiful hills.
This is the beach at Kilve, an extraordinary part of the National Landscape. Explore the rocks for fossils, or follow the cliff path.

We had a lovely stay at Headford Farm Cottage with our two labradoodle dogs. Luckily for us the weather was great which allowed us to explore the local area well. The cottage itself was great for our needs, enclosed area for the dogs outside the back door but an orchard and meadow which we could us just a few feet away. Despite being next to the owners farmhouse it was lovely and peaceful and we only actually saw them once when we arrived. The cottage was very well equipped, the owners had thought of everything we might need right down to dog bowls, towels and treats. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all sorts of useful things to use and there was also all the necessary diswasher tablets, washing up liquid, kitchen foil etc which saved the hassle of packing so much stuff. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and homemade cake were very welcome after a long drive to get there! It's right in the heart of the Quantoks so the lanes are very narrow and winding but it really was a lovely place to stay in the summer time. Would definitely recommend....

We had a wonderful 5 night stay with our dog in a lovely comfortable, well equipped, dog friendly cottage with the added surprise of a beautifully baked victoria sponge to welcome us! A peaceful location and a great position to explore both the Quantocks and the coastline with a nice walk from the cottage to Hawkridge Reservoir. Lots of pubs within an easy drive and many of them dog friendly (apart from the Travellers Rest). We received a warm welcome from our host, Emily, who made us feel very much at home....
