Shepherd’s Delight is a lovely place, in beautiful surroundings. The hut itself is very well maintained - warm and cosy with an excellent shower and kitchen (including small fridge) which is perfect for cooking meals enough for two. We could have gone out to eat or explore the woods nearby, but we ended up spending most of our time relaxing on the lounge chairs, by the lake, on the boat, in the hammock, and walking in the woods and fields around the hut. The fire outside was perfect for sitting in front of after dark, and I made a small fire inside to warm up the place for the night (although to be honest, it would have been warm enough anyway). On the occasions we did leave the site, we went to visit Killerton House (10 mins drive) and Morrisons (less than 10 mins). For a couple living in London this was the perfect getaway - tranquil, peaceful, and an ideal way to recharge. We would definitely book again next time we’re in Devon. Shepherd’s Delight far exceeded our expectations in every way. The welcome was wonderful, the location absolutely perfect, and the property itself nothing short of first-class. We were after a short break to escape the busyness of modern life, and what we experienced was exactly what we needed. Paul and Barbara were incredible hosts. We couldn't have asked for better. Suffice to say, this certainly won’t be our last visit to Shepherd’s Delight...

Incredible that such a peaceful and idyllic setting is so close to a busy city. Perfect for recharging your batteries and listening to wonderful bird song, we had a truly blissful stay. The hut is equipped with everything one needs. Having the canopy outside the hut offers good shelter should there be any rain. Paul was quick to respond when we notified him of the gas finishing, the bottle was replaced soon after. Would highly recommend !...

Shepherd's Delight is a truly magical place to rest and recharge. We loved the quiet location overlooking the lake. The hut is equipped with everything you could need, and there's lots of different relaxation spots & picnic tables around the lake to enjoy. It was lovely to light the woodburner on a colder night, and to enjoy sitting in bed with a cup of tea looking out into the forest. The location was great for us as we wanted to explore Exeter city, but also some of the beaches around Devon. Our dog very much enjoyed his stay too! ...
