The Parlour is the largest of a group of three cottages at this coastal Dorset Farm, the front door is around the right side of the cottage.
The incredible view of Dorset's famous landmark, Golden Cap is right in front of you.
The kitchen is very well-equipped with a large pantry in the corner.
There is a sunny, enclosed patio with that fabulous view.
The double bedroom (Bedroom 1) has a king-size bed.
Everything that you need to create a holiday feast.
The comfortable living/dining-area has French doors that really celebrate the view.
This photograph shows the interior link for The Parlour and The Linhay (2661) if guests wish to book the two cottages together.
The Parlour is next to The Linhay (2661). Both are designed to be very private but can be linked together to create a larger cottage.
Another view of the bedroom with its stunning view.
This is the very special view from the double room. (Bedroom 1)
The family shower-room is on the first floor, but there is also a useful cloakroom downstairs.
The second bedroom (Bedroom 2) has plenty of space for three beds.
The third bed in bedroom 2 is a 'day bed', but just as comfortable as the twin beds.
Another view of Bedroom 2.
Another view of the enclosed patio-area.
There are cheerful touches to make this a real home-from-home.
This friendly sign says it all!
The Parlour is in the nearest cluster of buildings to the left of the photograph, Golden Cap is beyond and Chideock village is to the right.
Walk for miles and miles in the wonderful scenery of the National Trust Golden Cap estate.
Charmouth beach is a great place for children to search for fossils.
National Trust Lambert's Castle is an undiscovered gem for walks with extraordinary views of the Jurassic Coast (you can see to Portland) and the Dorset countryside.
Visit West Bay with it's sandy cliffs. It's the 'home' of Broadchurch.
Venture a little further afield to 'Hardy Country' near Dorchester. This is Thomas Hardy's cottage.
The beautiful little town of Lyme Regis deserves a visit. Take a walk along the historic Cobb and, at low tide, perhaps go on a fossil hunt.

We had a very enjoyable week staying in the parlour with our 8 month old son. The location is simply stunning and the property really makes the most of the views. It was so nice to only hear birds of the morning and no noise of cars or neighbours. There is a campsite in the field right next door but that didn't disturb us at all and again the farm was also very quiet during our stay only seeing the tractor a couple of times. We found the property to be a great base for exploring the immediate area with Lyme Regis, Beer and West Bay only a short drive away. We also did one day in Weymouth and this was only a 40 min drive. We took a walk down to Seatown and found the lovely pub and had lunch there on our first day. We found the cottage to be comfortable and largely clean but the soft furnishings and decor did seem a little tired and a couple of items were sadly unusable kettle had too much limescale to use for boiling water for our 8 month son and the parasol for the garden table was missing a bolt to secure it to the base, which meant sadly we couldnt sit out and have our dinner on the lovely outdoor table as we had no where to keep our son in the shade. We've stayed in a number of holiday cottages over the years and I would say this has the best location we have ever experienced but we have stayed in others where the cottage feels nicer.

We returned to this cottage having stayed here a number of times in the past. As always, we were delighted with the standard of accommodation, the owners attention to detail, the location and the views. Another excellent week's holiday. Thank You.

Beautiful location, ideal for walking and a short stroll to the coast. Very comfortable cottage.

A lovely cottage, exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet. A great area for exploring the coast.

We absolutely loved staying at the parlour for my husbands 40th birthday. Owners have thought of everything. Beds are super comfy. Alison came to greet us when we arrived with flowers and milk and a Easter egg for our little boy, she gave us some tips on places to walk. Its the perfect central location for visiting the jurassic coast. ??

Excellent cottage in beautiful location with good nearby pubs and very helpful owner. Perfect holiday thank you.

Had a great week at The Parlour. Kitchen was really well equipped - the best I have experienced in a holiday let, particularly having good knives and pans. Owner was very helpful when we had left some items behind and along with Classic Cottages arranged to have them returned to us.

Fabulous location, with amazing views and two great pubs within walking distance. Beautiful coastal walks from the door.

A really lovely situation cottage which is so peaceful. Great for exploring the area either by car or on foot. 2 great pubs close by too. Well equipped kitchen.

Wonderful cottage. Extremely well equipped, very clean, and the pillows and mattresses were the most comfortable of any place I’ve ever stayed. Great location, with fabulous pubs within 10 mins walk, and an easy walk to the beach. And what’s a view. Can’t fault anything, it was perfect.

One of the best Classic Cottages we have stayed in. Ideal accommodation for us as a couple needing two bedrooms... beautiful location near many of the Dorset attractions....

An excellent, quiet location with very good facilities.

Perfect accommodation with beautiful walks right from the doorstep. Stunning view of Golden Cap from the window which is beautiful when your sitting out there eating your meal with a glass of something chilled. No noise whatsoever so a very relaxing location and within easy reach of many places of interest. We would most definitely return

Stunning views very tranquil can’t wait to visit again

We returned to the Parlour, having stayed here a number of times in the past. The owner's attention to detail make this a well equipped, very comfortable cottage. The views from the patio of rural Dorset are outstanding. We hope to return in the near future.

We had a super week at The Parlour. The cottage itself is warm and welcoming, clean and comfortable. It is bright and spacious with stunning views from the main living area, private garden and master bedroom. You could happily stay here and enjoy the lovely walks on your doorstep without venturing any further afield but it is also conveniently located on the Dorset coastline for enjoying many day trips only a short drive away. Our highlights were a walk along Monmouth beach to see the ammonite pavement, fossil hunting on Charmouth beach and a walk up Golden Cap. We will certainly return to The Parlour on our next visit to Dorset and wouldn’t hesitate to use Classic Cottages again.

Excellent accommodation, superb location and one of the best weeks we have ever had given it was December the weather was fantastic.

The Parlour is in a lovely location on a working farm and has great views. The house had everything and was spotless. The kitchen is bigger than it looks in the photo and had lots of equipment. From the house is 10 min walk to the beach which is pebbled. Great walks straight from the door. Will be returning definitely and wish I could live there.

This was our first time using Classic Cottages and I would definatetly use them again. We were very happy with our lovely cottage in Chideock; it was comfortable with tasteful furnishings and very well stocked. The location was ideal for our family. We especially enjoyed the 10 minute walk to Seatown beach every day and other beaches were 10 mins drive away. It was so peaceful and quiet at night too, which ensured we all had good sleep quality. The cottage was ideal for our family and very well stocked. It was also great value for money.

We had a great time at The Parlour. The walk down to Seatown Beach was quite short and across fields making it easy and fun with children. The cottage was very well set up in terms of comfort and equipment and the outside space was ideal for a drink in the evening sun.

This is wonderful place to stay with home from home comforts. We were able to park up and explore this beautiful area on foot. The cottage is bright and exceptionally well equipped with lovely views. We would love to return.

Lovely cottage set in a very quiet rural location with great walks located on your doorstep. Would highly recommend!

Great location, great hospitality from owners and home from home! Lovely break away.

This is a brilliant property This is our third time here Close to good walks the beach of fossil
And good pubs There were many days we didn't use the car so much on the doorstep to do Love the farm setting

Nice touch leaving Flowers, chocolates and cake. Good views and within walking distance of the sea.

Fantastic location, great walking from the door, property of a very high standard and actually you could easily reside in it which is the best compliment we could pay to the owner. Nice touches like the home made cake the bottle of wine and chocolates, all did not last long! This is the second Classic cottages property we have booked and will definitely book again, exceptionally high standard. We have recommended this property and Classic cottages to friends and work colleagues.

We had a lovely stay at The Parlour. Cottage has a lovely view across the countryside and is on a working farm, with lots of tractors for our under 3 to watch from the enclosed garden space. Was able to walk across 2 fields to the local Spar shop and 2 pubs in the village. Was also able to take our buggy to The Anchor Inn in Seatown and the stony beach, down the lane and through a couple of wide footpaths. Kitchen very well stocked with utensils. Polite and helpful owners welcomed us with a treat and milk in the fridge upon arrival which was unexpected but very welcome. Cottage positioned in a lovely area of Dorset, broad spectrum of beaches nearby in both directions, good local pubs, a tea room in a lovely setting nearby and the interior countryside is a walkers delight! A great trip for us!

We were delighted with every aspect of The Parlour. Waking up in the morning to stunning views of The Golden Cap and the Dorset countryside was the icing on the cake.

We, a family with children aged 8, 6 and 4 y and a baby, loved staying at and around The Parlour. It is a comfortable and warm welcoming place. Easy, safe and nice with small children. Enough to explore at little distance, kindly hosted, and well equipped with everything at hand.

Lovely cottage in peaceful setting, beautiful views. Lots to see and do nearby.

People met locally were very nice, helpful and friendly, both on the farm and in the village. Nice to have a farm shop close by with local produce, too.

Quiet location, great weather (for us if not for the farmers), and plenty of things to do nearby (beach walking, village sights). The quiz games were enjoyed (and would have been even more welcome had the weather been poor).Felt like a cared-for home rather than a cheaply furnished let, if you see what we mean.

We liked the location and comfort of the cottage. Everything was provided even down to hand soap etc. Cannot fault it. Best place we have stayed at. Further it was quite centrally located so were able to visit a lot of places without having to travel too far.Mrs Frankpitt has thought of everything to make her guests feel welcome. It is like home from home.

Really lovely stay in a very peaceful location surrounded by fields. The cottage was very homely and comfortable and well recommended!

Our stay for October Half Term was really great! Welcomed with wine, chocs, a card to the family with a warm welcome and a freshly baked lemon cake with milk in the fridge for a warm cuppa. I was extremely impressed at the attention to detail and how well equipped the cottage was. The living space was super for our family whilst at the cottage. We also spent lots of time visiting the different stony beaches in the area and other family attractions. A really happy family week had by us all.

Very well appointed. Tastefully attired. Great location. Attention to detail with welcoming touches and gifts right down to having fresh milk in the fridge on arrival was appreciated

Beautiful place. Thank you.

We booked the Parlour and the Linhay together and it has been the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Extremely well equipped, excellent location, beautiful views and very comfortable. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent holiday here with our 2 sons aged 2yrs and 6yrs. The Parlour is spacious, well equipped, good location, quiet, within easy walking distance of beach, village and 2 nice pubs (pushchair for 2 yr old). Excellent pizza Thurs night at The George (within walking distance) - would recommend booking during school holidays. Nice views of the hills from the front of the property. There is a caravan/camping site in nearby field - visible from the front of the property to the right side but it didn't impact on our enjoyment of the holiday. Farm vehicles exciting for the children and didn't bother us at all. Great places to visit - Dinosaurland (private museum on Coombe Street) in Lyme Regis, Durdle Door (wouldn't recommend a pushchair as steep/steps) and Lulworth Cove. Sandy beach at Lyme Regis - small and can be very busy but safe for children. Seatown beach good for fossil hunting - low tide - right side of the beach.

A fabulous short break booked smoothly and efficiently by Classic Cottages. Amazing location just a 15 minute stroll from the Jurassic coastline and Golden Cap. So peaceful and restful for our family.

We had such a wonderful Christmas with our family which was made possible by renting the Parlour and the Linhay together and they were both decorated amazingly! Thanks and Bless you!

Parlour is a very nicely furnished and finished cottage , and is well maintained. very clean. It is in great location and has lovely views and outside space . Nice and bright and airy. Owners clearly take great care of it and welcome gifts and flowers are a nice touch.

The Parlour is a lovely cottage and a great base for exploring West Dorset, just a short walk from the sea and two execellent pubs (The Anchor & The George Inn)and and the views of Golden Cap are wonderful. As with many holiday cottages it's lacks a radio/music system, which is a pitty as not all of us want to have the tv on at Breakfast.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review The Parlour and we were delighted to hear you'd had a wonderful time. We'll certainly pass on your suggestion to the Owner regarding a music system - thank you. Bryony, Customer Support

Everything I have said above.

A delightful house for a family holiday. We stayed here as a family of 5 with our 3 children age 15, 7, 6 . Although apprehensive at the prospect of 3 children sharing bedroom they loved it! - plenty of space for us all and the safe outdoor garden area brilliant as we had such nice weather our patio doors provided an open extension into the garden. A tranquil setting 5 mins walk from the beach, excellent pubs for food and fossil hunting organised trip worth every penny.

A thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing family holida that met everyones needs in our family.

Everything was perfect the little touches of cake wine and flowers so lovely . The location is fabulous hence it was our fourth stay at Doghouse Farm! We will be back next year.

Very warm and comfortable cottage in a great location with fabulous views.

The Parlor cottage is simply perfect, gorgeous, scenic, plush, unique, comfortable, modern, clean, great views, ideal setting........need I say more. Go on, rent it and see what you can add to the list x

A wonderful little surprise in the heart of Dorset

A lovely cottage, really good location for visiting Dorset & East Devon. Local pub, The George, serves excellent food at good prices - we booked to be on the safe side as this is now the only pub in the village. We didn't experience any problems with farm machinery, although the guys were working from early morning to late evening. We travelled as a party of 4 and would definitely stay at the Parlour again, or in one of the smaller cottages if we travelled on our own.

Lovely cottage, in a beautiful location, very comfortable

Gorgeous and well equipped cottage in a lovely rural setting in easy walking distance to the beach at Seatown and the charming Anchor pub. We had our seventeen month old daughter with us and she loved it. The walk to the beach was easy enough with a pushchair (bar a few muddy patches). The property only has a shower which could perhaps be a little tricky with a smaller baby but we managed ok.

A lovely comfortable cottage in a gorgeous area.

Excellent views and location for visiting the Jurassic coast

Property is attractive, immaculate and well appointed. Easy access by foot or car to fossil strewn beaches. The farm machinery returning each evening was a bonus for my young grandson.

The Parlour is a nicely specified property in a very good location for the coast and nearby Bridport and Lyme Regis. It does need shelving in bathroom and kitchen. The only shame for us with a baby was being right next to farm machine barn with tractors still going in and out up to 9-10pm. Didn't help the sleeping!

Thanks for your review - The Parlour is part of a working farm, and the three cottages on site are conversions of the original buildings so are close to the remaining farm buildings. As farming is so dependent on weather and seasonal conditions, at certain times of year - for instance in spring for planting crops and during the harvest in late summer/early autumn - the farm workers do sometimes have to work late into the evening to coincide with the right weather conditions. This isn't something that happens every day and lots of guests find it an interesting insight into rural life, but we're really sorry that it disturbed your little one on this occasion. However, we want guests to have a great time, so have revisited the description to really emphasise the location on this lovely working farm. Tanya, Customer Support

A lovely modern, fresh property in easy walking distance to the beach, can even buy homemade fudge on the way! Seatown beach is great for fossil hunting, the tide uncovers them for you - just keep your eyes peeled! The Parlour is in a great location for exploring the Jurassic Coast, lots of beaches and towns within a very easy drive. Would definitely consider returning, perhaps with extra family in adjoining cottages.

This newly decorated property is extremely well appointed with ample facilities providing everything our family of 4 needed. It is in a wonderful location with easy access to nearby attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay in this property and can highly recommend a visit.

Fabulous location and delightful property with many beaches nearby to explore.

Delightful cottage with modern decoration, excellent views of Golden Cap and a short walk to the beach (15 mins). There is some farm traffic quite close to the cottage but I suppose this was to be expected as it's part of a working farm.

Fantastic, well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Would recommend to anyone wanting an excellent standard of accommodation.
