This is truly an amazing place. We have stayed many times and hope to continue doing so in the future. Great views, lovely walks and a fantastic place to sit and chill in the peaceful surroundings. Be back very soon

Very peaceful location. A real bonus having sole use of the pool, gym and games room. Will be recommending to friends and family and will hopefully stay again in the future.

Three generations enjoyed a fabulous week in May at Aveton cottage and annex. Lovely setting, enabling a relaxed and private stay. Lots of thought placed on making it a home away from home. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Fabulous cottage, remote but very near to Kingsbridge and Hope cove which is a lovely bay

We had a wonderful stay at Aveton at the end of the summer. We are a family of 3 and shared the cottage with friends of ours (another family of 3). The cottage itself is fantastic; very clean and very comfortable. The games room was a wonderful bonus and the swimming pool is a great size. There was also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the stunning views! The only slight downside was the annexe; the storage baskets smelt a little musty so we chose not to use them, and the wet room in the annexe is quite dated. It was a bit too small to house both the shower and the toilet, so the floor (and mat) in front of the loo would get very wet after the shower had been used. There is also no sink in there, which meant having to leave the room and use the kitchenette sink for handwashing (not ideal). My husband wasn’t able to shave in the annexe as there was no mirror above the kitchenette sink, so he had to go back to the main cottage to do that. All relatively minor issues and slight inconveniences, but the annexe certainly wasn’t on a par with the quality of the main Aveton cottage, so it did feel as though one family ‘lost out’ a little. Having said that, the bed in the annexe was very comfortable and the room was a good size....

Thanks so much for your thoughts on Aveton Cottage and the annexe. We're delighted you had a wonderful stay and hope you got to make good use of the heated indoor pool and games room. A refurbishent and redecoration of the annexe has now taken place including a revamp of the storage, new lighting and work on the shower room - the proportions of which are driven by the openings already available in the stone walls of this former bull's pen. This does, however, provide great accommodation for extended family gatherings. We hope you enjoyed exploring this wonderful part of Devon and would love to welcome you back again in the future.
