Spacious accommodation set in a quiet location with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing. Stunning views of the Dart valley and of course, the steam train! We will definitely be back next year!

This is lovely property in a wonderful location, the views are stunning. The bonus of being able to see the steam train from the terrace was great, my husband and I kept running out to see it like couple of kids. Heron's Rest is a little gem. Very peaceful with comfortable furnishings. We could not fault the property. The steps to the property could be a difficult if you have walking problems, I'm nearly 80 and had no problems with the steps. Parking spaces are small, if you had 2 medium/large cars you may have problems....

If you go to this area you need to look at the map and decide which side of the river Dart you want to be. Our first evening we had to cross over to meet friends and had to pay nearly £16 return for a few minutes on the Higher Ferry. The ticket issuer failed to tell us we could buy a ten ticket card for £34 and save a massive 60%. The house is very well equipped but one bedroom has a patio and view and the other has little natural light. This could cause antagonism. There are two big steps up to kitchen. The sofas and beds are very good. Masses of lovely mugs, cups and cutlery and two teapots! Toaster works well. It is a tranquil haven in a very busy area. ...
