Lost and Found is a superb cottage - well equipped, clean and comfortable and in a superb location. Great not only for Greenway but also for all of the area with access via road but lots that are accessible on foot or by the ferries on the river. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this part of South Devon.
Mrs Brown June 2023
The cottage and setting is lovely, and the housekeeper is to be commended. Prospective guests need to be aware it is very isolated and we would not recommend the steps down to the property for anyone with mobility issues.
Mr Borrett June 2023
Great property, excellent location, very clean and comfortable.
Mr Griffiths May 2023
Good web site easy to use
Mrs Faulkner October 2022
A lovely house and spotlessly clean, with a splendid view. Everything you could need is provided and the host was very helpful and friendly. A nice walk to the ferry, and the steam train nearby (you can see it from the terrace). Brownie points to me from my husband, as I chose it!
Mrs Jobber October 2022
A very well appointed property in a beautiful location, with many interesting places to visit within a short distance of the house.
Miss Macardle September 2022
This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage and this is the second time we have not been disappointed. The cottage is in a great location. You would not need to use your car for a week as so much to see on your doorstep. We had a lovely surprise when we arrived to see a Devonshire scone tea waiting for us, most acceptable having just completed a six hour journey. Would consider a third visit in the future.
Mrs Waugh September 2022
Just the place to come to when you need a quiet time to wind down and recharge your batteries. It feels like a home from an earlier less-frenetic era.
Mr Bowater June 2022
Your staff, when I called, were brilliant. Your website is very easy to use. Will definitely be using you again next year. Just deciding where to go.
Mrs Howard June 2022
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.
Mrs Lawton May 2022
If you want to stay somewhere that is breathtakingly pretty, is quiet and peaceful (other than the wildlife - take a bird book) and very comfortable indeed - this is the place. Worth it for the perfect view from the bedroom window - and I do mean perfect. Walks on your doorstep, Agatha Christie's summer home just across the field (taking you past the best view in the world - bench provided) and Dartmouth not far away. Did I mention the steam train popping by at the end of the garden?
What a place for a holiday. Just don't tell anyone else - we want to keep it just for ourselves. Shhhhh.

It sounds like you had the most perfect holiday in this pretty and peaceful location. How amazing to see the steam train pass by at the end of the garden! Thanks so much for posting your review; we can't promise we won't share so you can have this cottage just for yourselves though! Kelsey, Customer Support
Mrs Smith October 2021
Peace and guiet : disturbed only by the occasional 'toot' of the steam train entering the tunnel and by the 'hoot' of the owl at night . Fantastic week, we shall return.
Mr Cook September 2021
The views are fantastic, very peaceful. A great place to relax and unwind.
Mrs Sharpe July 2021
A perfect place for a peaceful break. Beautiful views, very clean and well equipped.
Mrs Rust July 2021
Beautiful, peaceful, but isolated location. Access to it along a narrow lane with many pot holes. Stairs down to property would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
Mrs Pratt June 2021
The cottage was light and spacious and the kitchen was well-equipped. A good location for local footpaths and access to Greenway house and garden.
Mrs Lawton May 2021
Oooh Lost & Found. The ideal country cottage tucked away down a lovely Devon lane. Comfy, well-equipped and a view to die for. Dash up to the main bedroom and look down over the garden to the Dart, yacht moored picturesquely - just so. Take yourself out to the garden for lunch amongst the flowers and the birds. Sit down on the patio in the early evening and watch for bats flitting amongst the trees. So many gorgeous walks on the doorstep. The steam train just below. A walk into the village for the Sunday papers and a pint at the Manor. Agatha Christie's summer home just over the fields - very good scones btw (cream on first!). Glorious.

The location of 'Lost and Found' was excellent and the cottage it's self is brilliant. Fantastic outlook over the river Dart and very close the Greenway estate. Excellent walks close by over the beautiful local countryside. Look forward to staying here again.

Mr Crane September 2018
Don’t agree that good at manor pub was average. It was better than that. Don’t agree that local Fish and chip shop was excellent. It was ok but nothing special. Cottage was really lovely.
Mrs Lewis August 2018
Beautiful peaceful location.
Mr Burge July 2018
A very clean, comfortable, peaceful and quiet cottage.
Mrs Symonds June 2018
So glad we discovered Lost and Found, it made a perfect holiday. I intend to suggest it to Swiss friends who love the UK and visit every year for a vacation and then return for Christmas!
It would be hard to find anywhere more idyllic than this beautifully welcoming hidden jewel. xx
Miss Macardle June 2018
As before, lovely cottage, great location, the village approx 1.5 miles away good village shop, reasonable prices. Good Butchers next door. Just a great place to chill out.
Dr Jenkins September 2017
One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in - comfortable, spacious, well-equipped and beautifully furnished. The location is superb, with wonderful views over the river, and also over Brunel's viaduct with regular steam trains passing by. The cottage is less than 10 minutes' walk from the Greenway Halt station - with our 5-day Jubilee Pass, giving unlimited travel on the trains, buses and boats (excellent value), we were able to explore the area without having to negotiate the many single track country roads in our car! We would gladly return.
Mr Edwards September 2017
Excellent holiday and a beautiful cottage in a peaceful location.
Mr Stroud July 2017
Comfortable cottage in lovely location, clean and well equipped.
Mr Mogg April 2016
Great cottage to get way from the rat race but still retaining all the mod-cons.
Mrs Montgomery October 2015
Lost and Found is a real "find". It is in a stunning position with beautiful views and is very comfortable indeed. It is so convenient for the Dart Estuary and surrounding areas with excellent walking and National Trust properties nearby. We do hope to return to this very relaxing property.
Mrs Waugh September 2015
Fabulous view from the garden. When we heard the steam train whistle blow as it went into the nearby tunnel we knew to go down the garden to watch it pass in the valley below. The cottage and location had the feel of going back a generation or so to a time when things were not so constantly rushed and hence contributed to a relaxed holiday.
Mrs Hollis August 2015
the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in - peaceful, quiet, and comfortable with beautiful views and a perfect location for exploring this part of Devon
Mrs Quelch June 2015

Mr Glover August 2014
The cottage is exquisite and very cosy with unusually comfortable beds. The location is idylic and great for walks and general exploring of the area. The views are breathtaking. We'd love to come back.
Mr Rigg June 2014
This is a wonderful cottage in an outstanding location. Highest standard of cleanliness and facilities and very spacious accommodation, ideally situated for the Greenway estate and the Dartford steam railway and ferries. Best to park at Churston station (2 miles) for easy railway and ferry connections via Dartmouth.
Mr Howard May 2014
Wonderful cottage in beatiful, peaceful surroundings. Perfect location.
Mrs Calow April 2014
Lovely equipped cottage with great views. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Mr Basnett December 2013
A very comfortable cottage with lovely views. It is very well equipped and provides very comfortable accommodation. I would be happy to recommend a stay here and we would love to return there one day.
Mrs Heath October 2013
Beautiful cottage in peaceful location. Wonderful views of the River Dart and regular sound of the steam train passing below the garden ! Just along the lane and across the field you have Greenways (Agatha Christie's holiday home). Well worth a visit. Couldn't fault the cottage in any way - owners have done a wonderful job - home from home - heating on for when we arrived !
Steve and Kathy Heath, Broadstairs
Ms Hocking September 2013
a very comfortable and weel appointed cottage in splendid locaiton
Mr Hinkley September 2013
Bathrooms need to be cleaner as there was black mould around the bath / shower panel tiles and hand grips. Also the drainage from the baths was very slow and gurgling indicating a blockage.

Mrs Johnston June 2013
This is a wonderfully comfortable cottage with fabulous views to the Dart estuary. It is fun to watch and hear the steam trains travel through the valley, and Greenways Halt Station is within walking distance. We bought the Jubilee Pass for five days unlimited use on the train and most ferries which enabled us to get around without using the car.
Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed in this cottage, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines.
