This was our second stay at Beam Ends, and we would definitely be happy to return for a third! The property is easy to find, well-furnished and equipped, clean, and situated perfectly for walks on the moor. The garden is lovely to eat and relax in. The Rock Inn serves delicious food, and their beer garden is ideal for a post-walk pint. Thank you to Jill and Duffy for being helpful, area-knowledgeable, friendly yet non-intrusive hosts, and for the cake and elderflower fizz on arrival!...

The cottage was comfortable and just the right size and was a great home-away-from-home. It was cozy and the patio where we had breakfast and evening drinks had a great aspect to a view to the east and south. The location was ideal for quickly accessing Dartmoor and surrounding towns. Especially important were our generous and thoughtful hosts who checked in to make sure all was fine, and helped us when we had a travel issue....

Lovely cottage and garden, peaceful location. Jill and Duffy very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The cake and bottle of Elderflower drink was much appreciated and delicious.

We spent a week in Beam Ends and found Jill and Duffy (who live next door) to be very hospitable and friendly. The cottage suited us perfectly as we had lots of space for just two of us. It was very clean. There’s a very nice outdoor seating area surrounded by lovely plants that was nice and cool in the heat. The (very) nearby Rock Inn serves very good food (residents only Mon/Tues) and has a nice garden area for drinks. We ate there twice and it was full both times, so reservations recommended. There’s lots to do in the area and Jill was very helpful on the first day in providing options for us. Would recommend. ...

This cottage was ideal for the two of us. We found the bed to be comfortable and the shower powerful. A real bonus is the private, outside seating area with countryside views. We had a very enjoyable stay. Jill and Duffy were excellent hosts. We had a nice evening meal and drinks in the Moorland Hotel 1/4 mile up the road from the cottage. The local pub The Rock Inn was on the expensive side. You can walk (uphill) from the cottage to Haytor and Haytor Quarry; lots of wildlife to be seen. Visiting Buckfast Abbey was a highlight of our trip, with free car park and entry to the gardens and abbey....
