The location is a dream if you want to get away from it all. The lack of light pollution makes the night sky spectacular. Those lanes on approach are not for the faint hearted but very doable. The locals are friendly so passing is easy. The cream tea was much appreciated as was the warm welcome on arrival.
Mr Batchelor August 2018
The cottage was very well appointed, clean, bright warm and comfortable. The setting was pleasant and quiet and overall we had no complaints at all.
Mrs Conway August 2018
A great place to escape from "the real world". Lovely surroundings and waking up to the sounds of the cows and horses was great. The perfect place to chill with a country pub within walking distance. (walking back in the dark is a bit scarey lol).

Overall an excellent cottage, modern facility's and an amazing time had. The location is very remote and rural with single lanes surrounding, follow the directions given as this seemed to be the best route in to the property.
Dr Amine July 2017
The host Julie is very kind and welcoming. Meadowsweet is a very clean, modern, comfortable, well-equipped, and well-managed property. However – read the property description carefully because there is no wifi! Access to the property is extremely challenging along miles of very narrow, car-width lanes with high hedges on each side and lots of blind corners. I found this access to be terrifying after having met tractors, delivery vans, horses, hikers, and selfish drivers who refuse to back up into side areas intended for passing. Instead they just sit and stare at you, waiting for you to back up regardless of the distance to the passing area behind you. Not fun when there are also cars behind you!

We're so sorry to hear that you had some difficulties negotiating the country lanes in the area. The location is very rural and the lanes do need to be driven slowly and with care - especially at this time of year when the hedgerows are in full bloom. Usually locals are very friendly and patient in terms of pulling in and reversing - hopefully your experience was just down to a misunderstanding or maybe someone who didn't know where the nearest pull-in was, and future drivers and road users will be as courteous and helpful as we'd normally expect. If my wife and I ever wish to come again to central Cornwall we would not hesitate to return to either Meadowsweet or Cowslip, both of which we have now used.
Mrs Gould May 2013
Meadowsweet is a wonderful, quiet, country property that will suit those looking for guaranteed isolation but still within easy walking distance of a pub and central to both the North and South Cornwall coasts. The cottage is well equipped, warm and comfortable. The welcome is lovely. We loved being able to walk from the door without needing to take the car out.
