A mere hop, skip and a jump from the water's edge, this absolute gem of a cottage has been restored with exquisite care, creating a most desirable retreat that's perfect for warm summer stays and cosy winter breaks. Set along a quiet alleyway, yet right in the heart of Port Isaac, it's a jackpot location for a coastal getaway, ideal for couples, families and your loyal pup is welcome too!

From the moment you step inside, the 200 year old Grade II Listed terraced cottage's relaxed charm draws you in. Slate floors, exposed beams and traditional window shutters blend seamlessly with modern comforts and the most beautiful furnishings and perfectly selected artwork that complement the setting.

The sitting-room, with its wonderfully squishy corner sofa, invites you to settle in and unwind after a day exploring and on chillier evenings, light the wood-burning stove and curl up together with a favourite holiday film. A second stove brings a cosy glow to the kitchen/dining-room, creating the perfect setting for relaxed late night suppers, and whilst the kitchen will delight the designated chef with everything needed to prepare memorable holiday feasts, with so many tempting places to eat and drink just a short stroll away, you may find there is very little cooking to be done!

Upstairs, the gorgeous bathroom offers a deep bath for long restorative soaks and a drench-head shower for those who prefer something a little more invigorating. Two beautiful bedrooms provide peaceful sanctuaries at the end of the day, and after all that sea air, nodding off to sleep will be effortless.

Set in one of Cornwall's most charming seaside villages, Port Isaac is a lively place where colourful cottages, independent shops and galleries huddle along narrow streets and alleyways. Made famous by TV's 'Doc Martin' and the Fisherman's Friends, whose summer performances of their sea-shanties can often be heard in the quay, the village has plenty to offer. Food lovers can enjoy everything from traditional pasties, ice cream and fish and chips to Michelin-starred cuisine from Celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw.

You could easily spend your whole stay immersing yourself in village life and wandering along the coastal footpath and who could blame you, but venture a little further afield, and there are even more delights to discover.

The beaches at Polzeath and Daymer Bay are quite stunning, and at Rock you can try your hand at sailing or windsurfing or hop on the foot ferry over the water to Padstow and indulge in more culinary delights. From the vibrant town of Wadebridge, after browsing the shops, you can cycle along the renowned Camel Trail leading off to Bodmin Moor in one direction and Padstow in the other.

A little further up the coast, the villages of Boscastle and Tintagel are both well worth a visit, one with its little harbour nestled amongst the rugged coastal landscape, and the other steeped in Arthurian legends and if you want to see some houses and gardens on a larger scale Pencarrow and Lanhydrock should do the trick.
