Basil Cottage has been fully refurbished from top to bottom with no detail overlooked.
The perfect spot to enjoy a meal at the end of each day.
Whilst the chef cooks up a storm take a stool and pour yourself a chilled glass of vino.
Head back out to the front of the house to find the stairs in the dining-area.
From the dining-area walk through to the modern fully equipped kitchen. On a sunny morning open the patio doors on to the courtyard.
Time to plan a walk out to the burrows or further afield.
The sitting-room offers the perfect setting to sit back and relax into a holiday by the sea.

On the first floor you will find a separate WC to the family bathroom.
The holiday read will be a delight in this little reading nook.
When you have time on your hands, sit back and relax.
Pass the reading nook and head up to second floor where you will discover both bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 sits to the front of the house offering peace and tranquility with an ever-changing picture window.
The sea estuary offers views across to Instow, another pretty village to enjoy.

Across the small landing you will discover bedroom 2 which sits at the back of the cottage.
Yet another feature wall that complements the area.
Lastly, climb the last set of stairs up to the third floor where you will discover the perfect hangout room for watching a film or rugby match. Being in the loft you will have to watch the sloping ceilings.

Gather in the courtyard garden for a chilled sundowner whilst the chef rustles up a feast on the barbecue.
Although small, the courtyard is perfectly formed.
When you have so many pubs on your doorstep you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to pub lunch options.
Johns is literally a two minute walk from Basil Cottage - deli or coffee shop the choice is yours.
Catch the seasonal ferry across to Instow and take a long walk along the beach whilst the tide is out.
Head to magical Clovelly.
For a rather special treat catch a ferry to Lundy from Bideford Quay.
With Dartmoor and Exmoor within striking distance head out to the great outdoors and enjoy.
Coast walks that will go on forever and ever.

Beautiful property in an amazing location right on the estuary. Everything needed for a relaxing stay with coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, bakery and store all on the doorstep! Stunning views with constant activity on the water and nice walks along the coastal path from the village. On road parking is possible but, if not available there was always space in a car park 2 mins walk away. We had a fantastic week away. ...

Lovely place to stay, and catch up with friends. Away from the hustle and bustle of Bideford, but with easy access to other places of interest . Great views across the estuary, spending more than a few minutes each day, coffee in hand watching the world , and skiffs pass by....

This was our second stay at Basil Cottage, I think we might have been the first ever customers. The cottage still looked and felt new and extremely clean and comfortable. The taste level is impeccable and perfect attention to detail.
