Our first visit to the Peak District and we couldn’t have stayed anywhere more perfect. River Garden Cottage is an absolutely stunning property in a stunning location, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It has such a pretty garden with river frontage and walks direct from the door. We really didn’t want to come home and wish we could have stayed longer. The owners Martin and Su were wonderful hosts, incredibly thoughtful and welcoming, checking to see that we’d arrived safely and were settled in and comfortable. There were beautiful fresh flowers in every room and a wonderful and very generous welcome hamper too. We loved our stay at River Garden Cottage and can’t wait to return next year. River Garden Cottage was everything we had hoped, and more. The cottage, the location, the nearby villages, pubs and the local people were lovely. Plenty to see and do and a perfect cottage to return to at the end of the day. We will definitely be back....

As keen walkers we chose this property for its location and were not disappointed as it is a quiet, scenic area, with access to walks along the Monsal Trail and the river. The house is comfortable, clean and cosy and the riverside garden is delightful. Many attractions are nearby: we recommend The Buxton Crescent Experience which is very informative and enjoyable and we also visited Bakewell which is lovely. We had a great week at River Garden Cottage....

A really lovely cottage in a lovely location - perfect for walking without the car as many circular routes can start from the cottage (on and off the Monsal Trail).
