The Swallows

Booked 7 days for a chill down from work. After a bit of a bumpy ride to the property, we were met with a fabulous looking property. We all quickly went through the barn to see the inside and were not disappointed. The exposed wooden beams, the openness of walking through the kitchen to the front room and seeing the main bedroom above was a wow factor coupled with the bi-fold doors and slanted windows gave much to the charm of the property. All the bedrooms are a good size and there is a main toilet with a shower and bath. This is a very quiet, secluded property and we loved it. There is a property next door, but, you wouldn't know they are. Lots of nature on show as the buzzards entertained us most evenings. I definitely recommend paying a visit to the Railway pub down the road as the landlord is a riot. If you don't believe this to be true, book a week here and you'll soon see for yourselves how quiet and out of the way this place is. Kim & Chris ...

Really pleased with our stay at the Swallows, perfect place if you want peace and quiet. Good location for trips to Dawlish beach. Inside is very spacious and comfortable, huge kitchen and living space with a nice comfy main bedroom on the mezzanine floor. It you have kids, I imagine the games room would be perfect for them. We would stay again... P.S. the lane is fine is you take it slow and drive to the side in some areas, we had a low BMW and no issues.... ...

Stayed at the property twice and plan to book again for 2027. Location, facilities and property are second to none.

This is one of our favourite places to stay with the dogs.

We absolutely loved our staycation at the swallows. The barn was beautiful, spacious and homely - we didn’t want to come home! We stayed in the mezzanine bedroom and it was so nice waking up to all the light coming in through the skylights. We stayed with our 2 dogs who absolutely loved the large grounds to explore and there was plenty of room in the downstairs area for their travel crates to sleep in. Location wise it was perfect with Dartmoor not far for walks and hikes as well as some lovely local forests and beaches. Westward Ho beach was amazing for the dogs! We will definitely be coming back to this Gem in the future. ...

Amazing place with the lovely Swallows flying around. Such characters you can watch them for hours. Lovely grounds. WiFi very good and Smart TV is very good. The remote needed some new AAA batteries so we bought some but you may wish to bring some just in case. Took us a day to work out that Smart TV control had all the channels but only Netflix button. If you push the home button then you will also get Prime, BBC IPlayer, You Tube etc. Hope this helps someone else. Our bedding and towels were change weekly by the cleaning staff. They were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived we were left a lovely cream tea and a large 2ltr bottle of milk. Very much appreciated. We found the bed very comfortable and the shower very good with plenty of hot water. This barn conversion is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it for a relaxing comfortable get away from it all....
