Apartment is located within a quiet lane and on the Southwest Coastal Path. With a car parking space in front of the property. Seating area outside, overlooking the little harbour perfect for morning coffee. Handy heated porch for coats, walking boots, fishing gear and drying off a wet dog. Apartment is comfortable and nicely decorated and warm. With an amazing view from lounge window. Comfortable double bed. Kitchen stocked with every utensil you could possibly need. Plenty of hot water when showering. This was our first time staying in Portscatho (two adults). We will definitely be returning. Locals are very welcoming. Can recommend Plume and Feathers Inn, had several beautiful meals there. Fish pie was absolutely delicious. Harbour Club for sport, drinks, very welcoming staff and The Hidden Hut down on the beach for coffee and lunch. Portscatho Community shop is well stocked. Already planning our next holiday here. Looking forward to staying in Porthswale apartment again. First time booking a holiday with Classic Cottages. Their App is very easy to use. Will book again with them. Thank you....

Mrs Dalton December 2025
We really loved the cottage’s fantastic location — it’s a beautiful spot and the setting is a real highlight. It’s also clear that the bathroom and parts of the kitchen have been updated recently, which we appreciated. As other reviewers have mentioned, though, some areas of the cottage do feel a little dated and in need of further attention. There was a damp smell when we arrived and the dehumidifier was quite noisy while running. The hob and oven appear to be older and the hob struggled to heat pans effectively, and some of the furniture (particularly the sofa and chairs) wasn’t very comfortable. The second bedroom layout, where the door opens straight onto the bunk beds, also felt a little awkward, but it is a very small room and there is no other option. Overall, the cottage has a lot going for it and could be truly lovely with some additional investment and finishing touches. With those improvements, it would really make the most of its wonderful location....

Thanks so much for sharing your review. It's lovely to hear how much you enjoyed the fabulous location and appreciated the recent upgrades to the property. We're sorry you found the condenser dehumidifier noisy; this can be switched off overnight without impacting the effectiveness. Since your holiday, the owners have installed new heaters, curtains and had decorating carried out over the quiet season. We do hope the weather was good enough to let you have a relaxing morning coffee on the charming terrace which overlooks the beautiful bay. Sarah, Customer Support ...

Mr Keys October 2025
Cottage very well located, views over the bay beautiful, parking directly outside is very handy. However living room furnishing not comfortable and on arrival we found cutlery and mugs notably dirty. Internal doors to bedrooms and from living room to internal hall did not fit to frames so could not be fully closed...

Ms Munn July 2024
Views, views, views. We have been to Portscatho many times, as I love it here. But this is the first time I have stayed in the village centre. We lucked out with the weather, a week of almost unbroken sunshine, we were hardly indoors. We cooked some scallops and crab linguini, buying the ingredients at the local farm shop. The location is great, pop for a swim at the local beach and you can then hop straight into a hot shower back at the apartment. The village has an excellent coffee shop, gelato shop, lunch at The Hidden Hut, interesting gallery/gift shops, lots of rock pools to explore. The clearest of seas for swimming, paddle boarding and it is never that busy....

Just a couple of minor niggles, otherwise we cannot recommend this property highly enough.
