Well, what a gem!! My husband and I stayed here during the May bank holiday heatwave and we had an amazing time! Just getting to the hut itself was fun, having to drive through the cowshed much to the amusement of the cows themselves. It made me smile every time! The hut was spotless, and all the little trinkets made it feel very welcoming. Things like the little jar of dog treats, the homemade scones and the sun loungers made all the difference. Despite 30°+ temperatures, the outdoor cookhouse stayed lovely and cool during the day so we spent lots of time relaxing here with the sound of the birds and babbling stream for company. In the evenings it was very easy to cool the hut down as it had plenty of wide opening windows. We enjoyed BBQs by the lake, there was plenty of wood to burn and the farm dog Bruce would cone to say hello. He can small a sausage from a mile off and was super gentle and friendly! We spent evenings in the jacuzzi watching the sunset and relaxing whilst the bats and stars came out. The stargazing window was brilliant, we even saw a shooting star one night! We enjoyed the short watch around the lake. Its perfect for 4 legged friends on warm days and we saw lots of wildlife including birds or prey and frogs by the bridge. And to top it off, Hayley and Tom were fantastic hosts. Quick to respond to queries before and during our stay and happy to help. All in all, we loved it and will be back! ...

This is by far the best Shepherds Hut we’ve stayed. Attention to detail. Stunning location, waking up to the view of a beautiful lake, listening to the birds and watching the Canada Geese visit each morning. Highly recommended.

We loved staying in Hayley's Hut. They had thought of everything and the hut and outdoor facilities were really well equipped

I loved how easy it was to stay at the hut, everything you could want is there. I particularly liked how easily it accommodated our dog. The area around the hut was perfect for a stroll around and there was plenty of space for our dog to explore. The hot tub made it extra special and it was so clean and well kept. The outdoor cooking space was the highlight for us, great space to relax. The hut itself is so pretty and the bed was extremely comfortable. Hot showers and heated towel rail to keep warm. The hosts had thought of everything you'd need for a remote stay. Highly recommend and we would love to stay again....

This is a superb Shepherds hut in an absolutely idyllic peaceful rural location in gorgeous North Devon. We stayed for 3 nights but wished it was for longer. It is set in a quiet corner of a working dairy farm, but apart from the cows in the field next to the hut you wouldn't know- no tractor noise and we saw nobody at all apart from lovely Tom who met us on arrival to welcome us and show us the hut. Hayley communicated with us with excellent directions and lent us a huge pot so we could make a bone broth, which was super kind. If you're after peace, tranquility, outdoor cooking and a stay in a quirky but super comfortable place (bed was the comfiest ever!) this is for you. There is a gas hob in the hut with a cute whistling kettle, a good shower with hot water and very good water pressure, and a well equipped kitchen for 2 people. The outdoor cookhouse has a wood-fired Rayburn type cooker, with some pans and a kettle, and there is a fire-pit/ BBQ by the front of the hut by the lake. Our labrador couldn't believe his luck- he adores swimming and didn't get out of the water apart from sleeping and eating! Lovely mown path around the lake for a walk, a little boat on the lake which you can use. The hot tub is lovely- pristine clean and situated right on the edge of the lake. We were super lucky with the weather but even if it had rained it wouldn't have spoiled this truly magical little spot. I will definitely be heading back there- it really is a gem of a place!...
