Cider Barn is an ideal accommodation for 2 people, nicely equipped with spacious en-suites and plenty of storage in both bedrooms. The view across the little valley to Harpford House is very pretty with a variety of established native trees. The East Devon Way is literally outside the gate and the local walking is fairly easy, especially along the River Otter in either direction. Local buses along the A3052 through Newton Poppleford were running every half hour in late April/May, and it took us an easy 30 minutes to walk along the river to the nearest bus stop and catch the 9a into Sidmouth. (We are 75yrs + and these days take in the views: anyone younger could probably do it in 20 minutes.) There is also a disused railway line within easy distance of the cottage which runs north-south between Tipton and Harpford Woods; this too provides very easy walking on flat ground. ...

Cider Barn is excellent very clean and well equipped. The furnishings is comfortable. Set in beautiful countryside with beautiful views. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby, The Donkey Sanctuary is a good day out with an award winning restaurant. Sidmouth is a lovely seaside town, we also visited Otterly Mill. The owners are very helpful and friendly. When going back to Devon we will definitely stay at Cider Barn again....

A fabulous barn conversion in a private, peaceful, quiet location overlooking stunning countryside. The bed was super comfy, the shower great and the living area cosy and warm. The host Mike was so friendly with great local recommendations and Shirley’s lemon drizzle cake was superb! Perfect location for many stunning coastal walks including Budleigh Salteron to Otterton and Branscombe to Beer. The Masons Arms in Branscombe is a ‘must visit’ ……. The food and service there is exceptional! We would love to go back and stay - just perfect!...

This was our second stay at this lovely comfortable property in a wonderful peaceful location. Once again its central location allowed us to visit numerous beaches, including Budleigh and Beer. Dinner at the Bowd inn was a nice treat at the end of our stay. We are already missing the gentle pace of life that Cider Barn encourages. We hope to be back next year....
