The apartment is in the middle of town yet has two parking spaces which is very unusual. The views from the windows are the best Ive seen in a long time. As we went in winter we had fantastic views across the water. However seeing all the mooring buoys just outside the window makes me think that the view won't be so good in the summer months. The decor of the apartment is very plain (not a single picture on the walls) and has not been updated in years....

Thank you so much for sharing your review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the fabulous location and found the two parking spaces to be a real advantage, especially being so close to the town centre. We have to agree - the views are absolutely stunning, and we’re pleased to say they’re just as impressive in the summer, particularly in the sparkling sunshine. We’re sorry to hear that the décor wasn’t quite to your taste. While the photos are an accurate representation of the property, we’ll be sure to pass your comments on to the owners for their consideration. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful area, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back in the future. Julie, Customer Support...

Mr Payne January 2026
As a seven-time customer of Classic Cottages, I expected transparency. Our stay at Whizziwig (404) was defined by its absence. An active rodent infestation was present within the property's structure from at least Tuesday night (we arrived Friday before), evidenced by clear video of scratching under the floorboards and in the ceiling voids above. Despite bait boxes and a garage sign warning "or the rats will be back," this known issue was not disclosed. The critical failure was the unseen, continuous risk. For days, we lived above an active infestation, unaware we were exposed. The suggestion that the impact was limited to "the last 24 hours" when the balcony doors were shut is a misrepresentation. The risk, and the fundamental breach of the property's advertised standard, began the moment the infestation was active—days before pest control arrived. The complaint handling focused on minimising this timeline rather than acknowledging the material failure: renting out a property with an undisclosed, active pest problem. The resolution offered reflected this minimisation. Future guests deserve honesty about ongoing pest management at this property to make an informed choice, which we were denied....

We are sorry if you felt we have not been transparent or that we tried to minimise your complaint; this was not our intention at all. The last 24 hours had been mentioned only in relation to the balcony door, but the team had acknowledged and apologised for the impact on your ability to relax and get a good night's sleep during the last 4 nights, and we remain genuinely sorry that this was the case. We recognise that rest and relaxation are a high priority on most people's holidays. We appreciate that seeing signage in the parking area may imply that we are aware of an issue there, but to hopefully reassure you again; this signage was there as a preventative measure. Rats will always be present in areas close to the water or close to a significant food source, and given that they will be in the vicinity of Whizziwig, due to its waterside location, the management company have preventative measures in place that include regular checks by pest control, signage to give instructions to visitors in order to minimise food sources for them, and bait boxes, similar to what you would see outside of supermarkets as a preventative measure. These measures have ensured that this apartment has not been subject to an infestation for many, many years. The current infestation outside the property, is suspected to be a result of the extreme weather over recent weeks and resulted in them entering a space under the floorboards and voids in the ceiling, but not into the apartment itself. This has been very quickly dealt with by pest control and since being made aware of this by your report, we have been notifying any incoming guest and will continue to do so on a weekly basis until this is resolved. We cannot guarantee that an odd rodent here and there may not be spotted outside in the future, as this will always be the case by any property by the water, or in a highly populated area, but this would not be reason enough to include a warning on this property's description. They are present outside at all times, in all locations and it is not the norm for them to be found within the voids/wall cavities/in between the floorboards at this property. Once again, we are genuinely sorry that you were impacted by this unforeseen issue, and we hope that the gesture from the owner and Classic Cottages has helped to offset the disappointment a little. Fabulous apartment, almost like being on a boat! We spent hours watching the water and changing light, as well as enjoying the wildlife and boats. Perfect spot for paddle boarding as we could launch from the nearby slip Inside the apartment is very comfortable, well equipped and spacious for 4 people. The two large sofas allowed everyone to enjoy the view. It's a bonus to have onsite parking for two vehicles - with a bit of planning, there was space for a Mini and a VW van. Good location too, easy to walk into Falmouth either up the driveway, or the 57 granite steps. ...

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. It is quiet, has wonderful views and is filled with light. The accommodation is very spacious. It has excellent parking near to the entrance. It is close to the centre and some nice places to eat. However, if you are less mobile, owing to the steep climb up to the road and the uphill walk from the town you might need to use your car at times or hire a taxi. Don't let this put you off as it is in such a fantastic, prime spot otherwise....
