Wow !! The view is amazing as is the property every thing and more you could wish for .The unexpected heatwave was a bonus. There is a pleasant walk along the back of the property, which takes you across national trust land down to greenway house .You can always pop on the ferry and go across to dartmouth for the afternoon which we did with our daughter and partner and have fish and chips .We will have some lovely memories of our stay at herons rest. Especially the views and watching the steam train go back and forth on lazy afternoons on the terrace. ???? ...

We booked Heron's Rest very last minute and arrived late at night in the dark... typically we fly off to the Med for late summer sun - so weren't too excited about staying in the UK ...how wrong we were. Next morning we were greeted by glorious sunshine and the most spectacular view from the terrace... we hardly used the car as the walks directly from the cottage are amazing - with a ferry leaving Greenway's (Agatha Christie's Former Summer House) only 20-30 minutes or so away by foot with the most fantastic views over the River Dart. We stayed for a week in a very comfortable and well equipped property in a great location. Heron's Rest is one of those properties you are most likely going to rebook!...

Had a last minute holiday in Heron's Rest, such as unique and special property! The location was the best- so peaceful and secluded, not overlooked at all, just the trees and swooping birds for company and the most lovely views down to the river Dart. We barely used the car as there were so many walking opportunities from the door, and it was a priviledge to have the Greenway estate on our doorstep and pop out for evening walk. The property itself was huge! Lots of comfy seating areas, large private patio, comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. We felt very relaxed there, it was a real hideaway from the world. The immediate area was so peaceful but there is lots to do close by- national trust places, ferries, coast path, towns etc. A memorable holiday in beautiful part of the country, I was sad to leave!...

Spacious accommodation set in a quiet location with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing. Stunning views of the Dart valley and of course, the steam train! We will definitely be back next year!
