West Cliff beach is the main beach in Whitby, a fabulous flat sandy beach which stretches for two miles and is perfect for families. There are plenty of facilities here including beach huts, deckchairs to hire and windbreaks. Children will love the donkey rides, crazy golf and trampolines. There's two pay and display car parks nearby and dogs are not allowed on the south end of the beach.

Take a wander through the pretty village of Glaisdale and you will come across Beggars Bridge, a historic packhorse bridge over the River Esk. This beautiful spot is steeped in local legend and well worth a visit.

That's a lovely place to spend one day with your children that will love both the playground and the wonderful gardens

Reputed to be the highest waterfall in the North Yorkshire Moors, Mallyan Spout measures over 70ft and is found via a footpath from the Mallyan Spout Hotel. This beautiful place is quite special and parking is available in the village of Goathland.

Found in the stunning countryside of the North York Moors, The Fox & Hounds dates back to 1555 and this delightful pub has warming real fires for cosy winters and outside seating overlooking the green for summer dining. Local ales are availble and locally sourced food is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The charming village of Borrowby consists of steep streets with a delightful view from the hipptop towards the great Plain of York. The village is surrounded by verdant countryside, the ideal location for a peaceful getaway.
