It's relatively sheltered and ideal for family days out, you can even bring the dog as it's dog friendly year round. Nearby you'll find a car park, shop, cafe and toilets and the village is a short stroll away.

Pembroke Dock, also known as The Port of Pembroke has had historic links to the Navy since the opening of the Royal Navy Dockyard in 1814. These days the Victorian town has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants and is home to a twice daily ferry service to southern Ireland. There's lots of scenic walking in the area on the Pembroke Coast Path and also the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre to visit.

This small inlet is sandy and ideal for a families. There are lots of rockpools to discover so don't forget your bucket and net. At low tide it's possible to walk round to the wide sandy bay next door called The Settlands and further round still to Broad Haven beach. Do check the tides before you visit. Car parking is available in the village and there are three pubs and a cafe for refreshments.

Be prepared!
When we were there (3rd/4th week in August) the sand was never dry. This was not from rain, but a wide-spreading stream and drainage. I was glad I always have a plastic-backed picnic rug.

This historic landmark tower was completed in 1851 and is one of the last Martello towers built in the United Kingdom. The surrounding views are stunning and well worth seeing.
