The cottage is in a purpose built village (1700’s) for the nearby castle. We felt like we were in a film set. Enjoyed sitting out in the front of the cottage in the morning sunshine and cool in the evening as we stayed during the heatwave. Great location for walks straight to Lowther Castle and surrounding estate. Also near the historic town of Penrith and nearby popular Ullswater in the lakes. We enjoyed our week. ...
