Buddlewall is in a fantastic location: at the end of a very quiet lane. The quiet and space is so restorative, and it was a joy to walk straight out with our dogs on to various footpaths. The local countryside is beautiful, and there are several long distance footpaths to explore as well: Wessex Ridgeway, Monarch's Way and others. We were only one family, with two teenagers, using the house and it was a luxury to have so much space for us all to spread out and have plenty of space with so many rooms. The oak-framed new dining room, with its big windows all round, is very nice. The garden is bigger than the photos show, and has beautifully kept flower beds at front and back. ...

Buddlewall is a gorgeous, spacious, well-equipped old house. Full of character, it's in a blissful, rural location. Perfect for a large gathering of family and/or friends.

It surpassed our expectations. As the weather was not so good, we got to spend a lot of wonderful time in the cottage. The kitchen was particularly good. When the weather did cheer up, we found the cottage to be in the perfect location to explore the delights of the Jurassic coast and the beautiful East Devon/West Dorset scenery. Our dog loved it too. Would highly recommend it....

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. It's good to see that you liked the outside space, the lovely linens and bathrooms, and have noted your thoughts that the lighting could be brighter. The house is very much a traditional farmhouse and the owners have sympathetically modernised the interior without losing the charm. The lower ceilings and softer lighting are part of this overall presentation. In relation to the the areas that you felt needed more attention, obviously it's impossible to investigate this after the event and we'd always ask guests to get in touch at the time if they have any concerns. This is a wonderful place to stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the dining arrangements very flexible and the gardens were lovely. We really loved the cottage and it made for a memorable holiday.
