SingleSituated in the heart of Rye and just a short walk from the railway station, Pump Cottage is perfectly positioned for exploring this medieval town, 1066 country and the golden beaches and sand dunes of Camber Sands.
As you enter the cottage, you step into a welcoming porch that leads to a hallway, with a cloakroom and stairs leading to the first floor. The kitchen/breakfast-room is fully equipped for your stay and has all you need to cook up your holiday favourites.
After a busy day wandering the cobbled streets of Rye, retire to the sitting/dining-room. A relaxing space to enjoy a meal, read, watch a movie or play board games together.
As the day draws to an end, head upstairs where you will find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. Bedroom one is extremely spacious and features a king-size bed. Bedroom two has a single bed suitable for both adults and children and has a door leading onto a unique roof terrace which features part of the original 14th Century town wall. It's the perfect spot for a morning coffee whilst planning your day and watching the world go by!
Don't forget to pack cycle helmets, there are two bicycles kept in the garage and available to borrow during your stay.
As you step outside the cottage, you are only a short walk from a pub which has local guest bands playing most Saturdays. From here you can stroll to The Richmond Hill Gallery, Rye Pottery, The Strand home to Rye Heritage Centre and meander the maze of pretty, cobbled streets where you can explore antique, book and independent shops and an array of historic pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Most months this bustling town holds a host of events such as music, art and food festivals, making Rye the perfect escape any time of year.
Explore further afield and take a visit to the coastal town of Hastings with its winding streets and country park. Or visit the barren landscape of Dungeness. Other nearby attractions include Tillingham Winery, Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard, Camber Castle, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Bewl Water, Bedgebury Forest, Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Bodiam Castle, Rudyard Kipling's House - Batemans or the 1066 town of Battle with its famous Abbey ruins and battleground.
However you decide to spend your days here in Rye, Pump Cottage is the perfect place for couples, friends and small family staycations any time of year!
There is private parking available for one small car in the garage. Alternatively, there are plenty of car parks within Rye and parking meters outside the property where parking is free between 6pm and 8am.
