Enjoy a glass of fizz overlooking the peaceful stream, or curl up in a cosy sitting-room in front of the fire, whichever takes your fancy, this gorgeous retreat will deliver! This super cute, semi-detached Grade II Listed cottage, situated in the idyllic village of Nunney, is full of charm and period features. Beautifully furnished throughout, The Green House is a special place we are sure you'll just keep wanting to come back to.
The sitting-room is a delight with a traditional fireplace and comforting wood-burner; light up the fire and relax – you are on holiday after all! The kitchen/dining-room is fabulously equipped with everything you could need and it has a real home-from-home country feel, meanwhile board game evenings are a must at the lovely big table!
A gorgeous super-king bed awaits you in the main bedroom and the luxurious bedding will ensure total relaxation. Next door the second bedroom has twin beds and there are pretty views over the front of the cottage, down sleepy Horn Street.
The outside space at The Green House is quite special – a pretty, secluded terrace overlooks the stream and the sound of babbling water will soon wash away the stresses of daily life. We think it is the perfect spot to enjoy dinner al fresco and the bespoke glass balustrade ensures your tranquil view is unobstructed. Please do take care outside as the terrace is set over different levels with steps in between.
Nunney is arguably one of the prettiest villages in Somerset and is nestled at the edge of the Mendip Hills. The village has an excellent local pub and handy village shop – perfect for those not wanting to venture far from this gorgeous spot. Nunney lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so be sure to pack your walking boots and explore – a short stroll from The Green House will bring you to Nunney Castle, a 14th Century moated castle that is well worth a visit.
Further afield but within easy distance is the beautiful town of Frome – perfect for a bit of retail therapy. If star-gazing is your thing then head to Cranborne Chase, a designated International Dark Sky Reserve; on a clear day the skies here are quite incredible. All three counties of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire are easily accessible from Nunney; there is so much to see you'll just have to book to come back and stay again!
