TwinThe Old Post Office, in the north Cornwall coastal hamlet of Trelights, is as characterful a cottage as you could wish for. With parking across the road, the garden path shared with the neighbouring cottage leads to this charming end of terrace retreat. The glazed porch opens into the sitting/dining-room, attractively furnished with a warming wood-burner, perfect for those out-of-season breaks; the Cornish slate floor runs through into the little kitchen.
Elsewhere are wooden floors, narrow stairs and low lintels. Upstairs, the bedrooms are furnished with lovely bedsteads and linen, and share the small bathroom. Only a mile from Port Isaac and its attractive harbour, narrow winding streets, cafes and shops, this cottage is ideal for couples or small families.
The Old Post Office is an ideal base for exploring this stunning area of Cornwall, so why not pack up a picnic and head off for a day of adventure? The gorgeous sandy beaches at Daymer Bay and Rock are close by as is the surfers' favourite of Polzeath.
Coastal walks are in abundance with spectacular views around each corner or why not take a stroll around the historic houses and gardens of Lanhydrock and Prideaux Place. Whilst at Prideaux, you can also discover the harbourside town of Padstow with its trendy shops and galleries and culinary delights in abundance – you will be spoilt for choice.
