Bay Cottage is just steps from the beach in Shaldon, which lines the south shore of the beautiful Teign estuary, and this fabulous house caters for all parties young and old. From the ground floor sleeping/dining and bathing arrangements to the pod bunks and the glorious sitting-room which offers unrivalled water views to enjoy at any time of the day.
The location is second to none. Hop across the street in front of the house and you are on the beach, take a short stroll up the hill and you are at Shaldon Zoo and a fabulous eatery (The Ness) or perhaps just sit back and enjoy the views from the super comfy and well positioned sitting-room. The icing on the cake is you have access to a private parking space, which really is bonus in this fabulously popular south Devon village.
The owners, who live in the house attached to the property, are very happy to recommend local activities and things to do, but you might prefer to just stroll to the beach with your bucket and spade in hand.
For the foodies amongst you, there are popular restaurants in the village, alongside some excellent pubs and cafes. Alternatively, hop on the passenger ferry and explore the historic port of Teignmouth across the water. This is a relaxing and very comfortable base for the whole family, with a lovely walk up to Ness Head above Shaldon or through the tunnel to the beach on the other side of the headland, you will all have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
For the adrenaline junkies of the group, the watersports available are numerous, from kayaking, sailing or paddle boarding, there really is something for everyone. A short drive will also find you in many of the south Devon hot spots such as Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Brixham and many more, making your location rather special in allowing you to really explore this glorious region without too much hassle. Returning to Bay Cottage and the delights of Shaldon is always a treat at the end of the day, what are you waiting for!
