Tucked away at the end of a private drive, amidst glorious rolling farmland, yet close to the clifftop walks, sheltered coves and fishing villages along the south coast, this fabulous barn conversion is the perfect 'escape to the country' for family holidays, special occasion celebrations or a group of friends simply looking for an excuse to get together. With oodles of space both inside and out, a large garden, sunny patio with bubbling hot tub, games-room, woodland walks and fishing lakes into the mix, Dannett Stable is a very special place where happy holiday memories will be made.

All created with much care by the lovely owners, who farm sheep and cattle, and live next door along with their son and his family, along with another property Dannett Farmhouse (4962), not to mention some free-range chickens and guineafowl, the most comical of birds who might make an appearance in the garden.

Remarkably spacious, with beautiful and comfortable home-from-home interiors, everyone can help prepare holiday meals in the huge farmhouse kitchen all served up at the dining-table where you are sure to linger for many an hour, reflecting on the current day's adventures and planning the next day's instalment. The equally large sitting-room has French doors leading out to the sunny patio where you might choose to fire up the barbecue on balmy evenings.

One bedroom with its own cloakroom is on the ground floor and the further four bedrooms - two with en suite facilities - are on the first floor with the twin room accessed through the super-king bedroom, making it ideal for parents with younger children. Last but by no means least is the family bathroom complete with spa bath, so lock the door, turn the tap, add some bubbles and chill!

Outside the magic continues. Grown ups can relax in the garden soaking up those countryside views whilst the children burn up some energy enjoying ball games on the lawn or practicing their knee drops on the trampoline, popping over every now and then to say hello to Dusty the donkey and Silver the Shetland pony - the cutest of couples. If the weather turns a little chilly or for those with a competitive edge, the games-room, shared with the guests of Dannett Farmhouse will keep you entertained for hours, there's pool, table-football darts or table-tennis in fact with so much choice you can have a mini Olympiad during your stay.

If you have a larger group coming to stay, why not rent neighbouring Dannett Farmhouse and make it a real celebration. What a wonderful time you will have together!

If you are the sort who likes to brag about 'the one that got away', fill a flask and head down to the fishing ponds stocked with brown trout, carp and tench. This is also a lovely spot to enjoy the peace and quiet with a good book or for an evening stroll, and for the best adventures the woodland walk is quite special. Amuse toddlers by 'going on a bear hunt' whilst older children put their camp-building skills to good use or gather up the whole gang, pack a picnic and head down to the little clearing in the wood and get closer to nature as you spot the wildlife who make this beautiful spot their home.

With so much to do you could ditch the car for the week and spend your whole holiday at Dannett Stable and who can blame you, but if you are up for a day out this is also a great base for exploring. Spend time wandering around the traditional harbourside town of Looe where you can browse around the shops and galleries, join a fishing trip, indulge in some good old fish and chips or hop over to Looe Island to discover rare plant and wildlife. The pretty fishing village of Polperro, a favourite with artists, offers a more olde worlde charm, and a little further down the coast is the exclusive waterfront town of Fowey.

A day at Mount Edgcumbe Park with its Tudor house, beautiful gardens, miles of walks and artisan workshops will be a delight and the National Trust houses and gardens at Cotehele and Lanhydrock are equally charming. If you want to spend a day on the beach head to nearby Seaton and Downderry and for some city culture take a trip over the river Tamar to the historic maritime city of Plymouth to see where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America and Sir Francis Drake played that infamous game of bowls.
