This pub is slap bang in the middle of Bembridge village and is popular with locals and visitors alike. Parking is fine on the roads nearby. The menu is created using food locally sourced in the village so expect seasonal, fresh produce. Specials change daily and include fish fresh from the local harbour. A pizza oven is the latest addition so freshly made pizza is also on the menu.

Fabulous friendly staff
We used this pub several times as a large family group, with young children and baby. The landlord couldn’t have been more helpful and ensured everyone was happy. The chef was also willing to adapt meals to suit and the serving staff quick and efficient. A really great place to grab a meal.

Friendly local
Great friendly pub. Went a couple of times and the food was great, the staff were welcoming and the quiz was great fun. Really enjoyed our nights here and wish this was my local.

Friendly, welcoming, something for everyone.
Fabulous find in the village centre. Wide and varied menu, catering for most dietary needs. Staff are incredible. We ate here twice in a row, but I have no doubt that if you were in the area for a week you wouldn't run out of options.

Traditional village pub
I like it here. It's casual, frequented by locals (usually a good sign) and the food is pretty good for a village pub. The meat is from the local butchers and highly recommended.
The Old Fort Seaview (7 ½ miles)
Offering views across the Solent, this bistro bar and restaurant has a wide ranging menu throughout the day. You can watch the world go by from the outdoor seating or enjoy the nautical interior inside. Dogs and children are welcome.

Excellent food and great staff
This is a great place to eat as it has some lovely dishes and has a specials board. We tried the sea bass which was so nice we returned for a second helping! Our party also tried the fish of the day which was a whole sea bream, again delicious. The shell on prawns, the fish and chips and the crab ramekin were also really nice and the bread served here was gorgeous and you get plenty of butter. The chocolate brownie dessert was a triumph too. All of this, plus it is dog friendly! Definitely recommended to try.

The Old Fort Seaview
Lovely seaside pub with outside sitting area. Enjoyed the food, but you do need to book ahead as they get very busy and its OK to sit outside if it is a balmy summer evening.

Nice but....
We never got to actually eat in this pub. We did try several times but we were either too late or too early and they weren't serving food and then on our last evening there we were told no dogs after 6pm so we couldn't get a table. To be honest we did rather feel that sailing club members were given priority over holiday makers and that we were a bit of a nuisance that is tolerated rather than encouraged.
Seaview to Ryde Walk (7 ½ miles)
Park your car anywhere on the Esplanade at Seaview and walk past the Boathouse pub with the sea on your right. You will pass rows of beach huts, woodland and into Puckpool Park. The sea views are stunning across the Solent to the mainland and the park itself is a gem. The path hugs the coast all the way around to Ryde, past Appley beach with its gothic tower and into the town. You'll find lots of places to eat and drink en-route, the path is even and flat so suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are allowed on the footpaths but restricted on the beach so do check the signs. The return walk is approx 2 miles depending how far into Ryde you walk and the best return route is back the way you came.

Great walk into Ryde
Lovely walk - looks like a fab cafe half way but couldn’t get in as so busy
October 2021
Easy flat walk
Great walk to Ryde especially as you can walk across the beach at all states ot the tide
September 2021
Lovely coast path
Great views, accessible with a pushchair and plenty of places to stop on route for refreshments and a great kids park in puckpool park (with public toilets), our toddler loved it. The Old Barracks beer garden is sunny and nice with reasonably priced drinks. Don't miss the sand playground on Ryde seafront if you have little kids, our toddler loved it!
September 2020
Nice Walk
It is a nice walk along the coast from Seaview to Ryde. There are a couple of park cafes on the way and some nice coffee shops in Ryde.
September 2020
Excellent pushchair friendly walk
A lovely walk from the doorstep, although you may need to walk via Bluett Road in Seaview at high tide! There are a couple of cafes in Puckpool to take a rest and refreshments.
September 2019
Enjoyable walk
With the sea to look at and all the activity on it along the way it is a very enjoyable walk. When the tide is out you can shorten the walk by cutting across the beaches. If you walk along the paths you will pass a small nature reserve which can be visited by all, a couple of pubs, The Boathouse looked good, a cafe which we went in called The Dell and recreations. The area named Appley has a Coastal Foley and woods to walk through. The beach at Ryde is large and sandy, and Ryde has many places for refreshments after your walk. You can continue your walk along the pier, which is free for pedestrians. We estimated the distance to be a little over 2 miles, we took our time and enjoyed the views.
The Pointer Inn (3 miles)
Traditional pub grub but with a difference. Locals are offered a bartering exchange system where they provide local produce in exchange for meals or drinks. Great idea and upholds their intent to use local products. A garden with views across the downs and a large terrace are available for summer dining. Child and dog friendly. You may wish to book; this is a very popular place.
February 2017
This is a beautiful traditional pub that serves excellent food and has staff that will go the extra mile. I love that you can order some of the dishes from the menu as a smaller portion so there is no food waste. All food is locally sourced and they can even tell you the name of the person who grew it!
The Taverners (3 miles)
A traditional country pub which uses local produce and even its own home grown herbs from a vegetable patch in the garden. There's a kids play area and a shop selling all sorts of local produce. Dogs are welcome.
July 2017
A warm welcome
We booked for a meal at The Taverners after first visiting there for a drink earlier in the week. We received a warm friendly welcome and the food was excellent, plenty of choice with daily specials and a bit different to the norm. . The service was excellent and very prompt. Their local brew was also good. I would definitely recommend this establishment and would visit again when I am next on the Isle.
