Ventnor Beach (¼ mile)

The Victorian seaside town of Ventor has a traditional beach with sand and shingle protected by chalk cliffs. A real bucket and spade family beach, there are lots of facilities including a paddling pool, deck chair hire and amusements. A car park is close by and dogs are not allowed from May to the end of September. Lifeguards are on duty during high season.

Ventnor (½ mile)

Ventnor is the place to go if you enjoy a vibrant arts scene or botanical gardens. It seems a little warmer here all year-round, hence the flora and plentiful fish make it a great spot for anglers. Most of the island crab comes from here.

A warm welcome

We booked for a meal at The Taverners after first visiting there for a drink earlier in the week. We received a warm friendly welcome and the food was excellent, plenty of choice with daily specials and a bit different to the norm. . The service was excellent and very prompt. Their local brew was also good. I would definitely recommend this establishment and would visit again when I am next on the Isle.

The Royal Hotel (200 yards)

With 2 AA Rosettes achieved for over eighteen consecutive years, you are assured amazing food and excellent service here. Call in for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner and choose between relaxed, informal or fine dining.

The Ale and Oyster (¼ mile)

Located on the Esplanade overlooking Ventor Bay, this bar serves fresh fish from the bay and island reared beef. Even the bread and butter is made in house. Coffee served all day.

The Met Wine Bar (¼ mile)

Sit and enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace over looking the bay or pop inside for tapas and coffee. Dogs are welcome and parking is available on the street. A great place to chill out and watch the world go by.

Mill Bay Inn (¼ mile)

Over looking the bay at Ventnor, this large family pub offers sea views and serves food all day. Anglers take advantage of the great location of this pub and nip in for a quick drink whilst fishing off the sea wall.
