Nestled within 25 acres of enchanting grounds of historic Nancealverne House, Apple Loft Cottage is a beautifully restored property offering a peaceful stay steeped in centuries of Cornish heritage. Part of the Grade II Listed Georgian country house, whose origins trace back to Elizabethan times, the estate has long been home to notable sailors, soldiers and mining entrepreneurs and now warmly welcomes four guests to this sweet home.

Tucked discreetly behind the main house, semi-detached Apple Loft Cottage is entered through a private courtyard entrance. Newly renovated, this delightful cottage blends a modern style, whilst retaining the charm of the outstanding setting.

Step inside to a warm and inviting huge open plan living space, where a cosy wood-burner creates the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Cornwall. The contemporary kitchen and dining area overlook the pretty courtyard making this charming home ideal for relaxed mornings or cosy evenings. There is also a convenient cloakroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are two beautifully presented bedrooms, one a king-size 'zip and link' offering flexible sleeping arrangements, the other a comfortable double. Both have en suite shower-rooms, creating privacy for guests.

Outside, a peaceful courtyard provides a lovely spot for al fresco dining allowing you to appreciate the setting that this property offers. Beyond the cottage the shared grounds of Nancealverne unfold; landscaped gardens, woodlands and a tranquil pond rich with wildlife and aquatic plants (please take care as this is not fenced). Carpets of bluebells and spring flowers make this a simply idyllic setting. Occasionally a small number of cattle graze quietly in front of the main house. Your four-legged friends are welcome to join you on your holiday but please keep them on a lead when in the grounds.

Nancealverne Estate has been recently gifted to the Cornwall Heritage Trust and they are entrusted to preserve this beautiful piece of Cornwall's history where nature and heritage come together. Apple Loft Cottage offers you the rare opportunity to experience a unique piece of this historic estate. Classic Cottages are proud to collaborate with Cornwall Heritage Trust helping to preserve and celebrate this special piece of Cornwall for future generations to enjoy. So whilst here, do visit some of the other sites in this particular area that are either owned or managed by the charity including Carn Euny at Sancreed, a well preserved Iron Age settlement with a 'fogou' central to the village, Sancreed Beacon, an area of natural moorland, a number of metres above sea level with commanding views over Mount's Bay and Tregonning Hill, a seventy-acre archaeological site built on granite, located within the Cornish Mining Landscape World Heritage Site, the largest industrial World Heritage Site in the country. John Wesley, the Methodist minister was said to have preached here.

Now you are in one of the most stunning parts of the county, the west has so much to offer. Enjoy the numerous independent cafes and eclectic mix of people in Penzance, take in the sea views along the promenade and perhaps visit the Art Deco Jubilee geothermal pool.

Cross the tidal causeway in nearby Marazion where the castle stands proud on the beautiful island of St Michael's Mount, one of the most photographed landmarks in the country. The bustling harbour of Newlyn offers the freshest of fish and a little further along the coastline is the quaint village of Mousehole with its narrow cobbled lanes, harbour cafes, tales of smugglers and hidden coves. Spectacular coastal walks and sheltered sandy beaches are all close by, pack a picnic, head out and explore this picturesque area.
