Welcome to this fabulously secluded Scandi sojourn tucked away amongst the trees! With stunning interiors, a wood-burner and balcony with outdoor bath, this is a gorgeously luxurious dog friendly retreat for five.
Nestled in the wild beauty of the Lizard peninsula, Daskor Treehouse brings a touch of Scandinavian chic to Cornwall. Surrounded by a grove of rustling trees, this elevated larch-clad homestay offers a blissful escape from the everyday, benefitting from a fabulous location from which to easily explore the best of west Cornwall. With open plan living, bedrooms at either end of the property and an expansive balcony, Daskor (meaning 'restore' in Cornish) is a spacious, peaceful retreat for couples, friends or families alike, and your four-legged friend can come too.
On arrival, take the winding, elevated wooden walkway up to the gently curved property, where on entry you'll discover the stunning, light and airy open plan living area. Here, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors lead outside, offering a peaceful view of the treetops that surround you. To the left lies the cosy sitting-area, complete with autumnal-coloured velvet sofa, leather armchair, free-standing Jotul log-burner for snuggling up in front of, a Smart TV, books and games and an LP player for some good old fashioned record playing.
To the right lies the kitchen and dining area. The sleek cabinets and worktops of the kitchen will please the most demanding cook, and it's fully equipped with everything you'll need to rustle up feasts with an integrated induction hob and combi oven, dishwasher, built in fridge/freezer and all the other essentials on hand. Next to this lies the dining-table, bench seating and chairs for mealtimes, whether that's enjoying bustling breakfasts planning the day's adventures ahead, or chatting over a late night supper with a glass of something special in hand.
The two bedrooms are located at either end of Daskor Treehouse, offering maximum privacy for when the sun goes down and it's time to retire for the night. The principal bedroom has a comfy king-sized bed adorned with Piglet in Bed bedding, dual-aspect windows, a dressing table and a built-in wardrobe. The second bedroom also has a king-sized bed complete with storage in the stairs leading up to the bed, a dressing table and an additional pull-out single bed should you need it.
For bathing, there's a fabulous shower-room with walk-in rainforest shower, Lusso stone WC and sink, and sumptuous under-floor heating to keep toes warm and cosy.
Outside, there's a stunning chestnut timber decked area (the wood being reclaimed from trees blown over in a storm), complete with seating and incredible stone bath for outdoor soaks, whether to bathe under the rays of the sun or by starlight. In addition, there's torches and blankets to wrap up in on cooler nights. Behind the property there's parking for two cars.
There are two other treehouses onsite; Skapya Treehouse (5858) and Kalmynsi Treehouse (5857).
Hidden away in the unspoilt countryside of the Lizard peninsula, Daskor Treehouse is just a stone's throw from the pretty village of Gweek, famed for its creek views, excellent local store and Seal Sanctuary. Pop in the car and you're just a few minutes' drive from plenty of fantastic places to explore, whether that's the picturesque Helford River, made famous by Daphne du Maurier in 'Frenchman's Creek', or the gorgeous Trelowarren Estate for lovely walks. There's a host of exceptional beaches for swimming and picnicking - Kynance Cove, Coverack, Poldhu, Church Cove, Cadgwith and Kennack Sands are just a few to mention. Alternatively, head to Trevassack Lake for a freshwater swim. Walkers will love donning their boots and taking to the coastal path for incredible sea views (keep an eye out for choughs, seals and dolphins), or head inland to Goonhilly Downs National Nature Reserve for a spot of birdwatching - it's a hot spot for more unusual migratory birds. You're not short of fab places to eat too, from Roskilly's (of ice cream fame) and Gear Farm for their exceptional pasties, to the fantastic Halzephron Inn near Gunwallow and the Shipwrights Arms in Helford. Places to explore further away include Porthleven (famed for its eateries), the amazing subtropical gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan, and the bustling seaside town of Falmouth.
