A rarely available boutique property nestled in the heart of the Cornish countryside. This beautiful part of the Helford is wonderful, with tranquil beaches only a short drive away and open countryside with wonderful walks right on your doorstep. This special spot is next door to another beautiful property Peaceful Retreat Cottage (5339) and the name says it all.
Open the front door and head through the entrance hall where you will find yourself in the stunning open plan living space that really has the 'wow' factor. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and original features, this peaceful space makes you take a deep breath and instantly relax.
The living space is dominated by the floor to ceiling glass doors and windows overlooking the Cornish countryside. In fine weather the doors can be opened to bring the outside in and enjoy the feel of the balmy breeze on your bare feet. The large kitchen has everything you will need to cook a feast and there is plenty of fresh local produce available in the area. The large range cooker features centrally in the kitchen and the long wooden island is the perfect spot to perch whist having your nibbles or perhaps your morning bacon sarnie.
One step up leads to the large dining-table and sitting-area, the sumptuous sofas are the perfect spot to snuggle down with the flickering flames of the wood-burner after a day on the beach. The large dining-table has plenty of room for four people, enjoy lingering meals here chatting long into the night, perhaps singing along to a tune or two on the piano. The owner has thoughtfully left a children's crafting table and highchair too - perhaps go foraging in the large garden and make something special to take home.
Down the corridor you will find the two fabulous bedrooms and family bathroom. The main bedroom has a true sense of calm where you can enjoy lounging in bed with your first coffee of the day, listening to the gentle song of the birds. This bedroom has the most magnificent en suite bathroom with a huge walk-in shower which you will find hard to drag yourself from, along with a bath for those holiday soaks. The second bedroom is equally as lovely with 'zip and link' beds to provide flexibility for guests. There is a mezzanine level which is a perfect area for little ones to play games or perhaps make a den. This bedroom has use of the family bathroom with a walk-in shower and fabulous bath too.
With oceans of space outside to explore this really is a dreamy property. The fabulous hot tub overlooks the garden and has far reaching views across the valley. There is also a large fire-pit for toasting marshmallows and warming your cockles after a day exploring. The stars in this part of Cornwall are stunning so enjoy looking for a shooting star. The garden is yours to explore and leads onto a large wildflower meadow with beautiful meandering paths (please take care near the large empty pond which is fenced off in this area).
Peaceful Retreat House can booked together with Peaceful Retreat Cottage (5339); the two properties make the perfect place for two families holidaying together or a family on holiday with grandparents - the dining and living-room areas in Peaceful Retreat House can accommodate eight people for the times you want to eat and be together indoors. When booked together the gardens are opened up to each other to form one outdoor space and the hot tub (which seats six, or eight if you're happy to get cosy) can be shared by all guests.
There is plenty of parking at Peaceful Retreat House, please be aware there is a footpath that runs alongside the car parking area but the house and garden are cleverly designed so your holiday remains very private.
